Nothing that online poker sites do to screw money out of the average punter is a major surpise anymore - but that is truly shocking.

I think that perhaps one should take this with a pinch of salt.

I was on a table earlier with the apparent bot (bot771107), and he was talking in the chat box! It"s a pretty sophisticated bot that can hold a conversation.

Wouldn"t you be able to type in the box, for the short while you maybe at the computer yourself?
I am not being funny Steve. I haven"t even read about this. all i am saying is a bot playing 24hrs a day. Surely the owner could type in whilst he/she is there. so a small chatting session wouldn"t necessarily disprove the use of a bot.

I read the thread and just appears to be a level. I take stuff from 2+2 with a whole bucketload of salt, most of their stories are pretty flimsy and border on ridic conspiracy theory type stuff.

Thats not to say that there are no bots in poker but if anyone really believes that networks are creating and planting bots then either they are deluded or I am very naieve.

Well as I stated i have not bothered to read link. With regards to private bots(hang on, is this a real conversation?) If individuals are using a bot type program, then they must also have access to typing when available.
I obviously havn"t read as I should possibly have, but can"t be bothered really to follow up link. I assume by your reply people are saying sites are using bots??
If this was the case, then "fraud" is the only word to mind. License(or unliscenced) to print money.
Having  had experience of blatant cheating at Live games on numerous occasions(some by so called respected folk)
and having just watched, "catch me if you can". Based on true stuff. Taking into account all the real online scandals etc.
I do not think that I am naiaeve??? Yet maybe 99.7% of us are naiaeve compared to the 0.03% of the post graduate, Programming mathematical swindeling genius out there. Or organised crooks.

I do though give the benefit of the doubt and trust in humanity, no doubt to be provenmtotally wrong at some point, but until then....live and let live.  Before anyone replies, Yes I have had two yes TWO bottles of wine. I am happy, and will continue to play both online and live.

Thing is Paul, you need to read the link to understand where I was coming from. There is apparently an admission from Will Hill that they insert their own bots into the site to get traffic moving. And then, also apparently, their bots are winning games.

I suspect somebody took a bad beat from the player named bot771107, then made up some fictitious tale out of spite - and for some reason, it has grown legs on 2+2
