WHO ARE YOU?

Daniel Phillips

POST A PICTURE OF YOURSELF OR A LINK TO ONE (APAT OR OTHER)

WHERE DO YOU COME FROM?

Born in Leeds, now live in Tamworth via Wigan, Corby, Sheffield, Japan, Peterborough, London, Slough and Solihull.

TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF?

Spend too much time online, playing poker, or watching sport (ideally all three).

WHAT IS YOUR POKER BACKGROUND?

Been playing about 3 years now - mostly online.  Mostly cash.

WHAT IS YOUR PLAYING STYLE?

Tight / aggressive.

WHO IS YOUR FAVOURITE POKER PLAYER AND WHY?

Anyone who can win or lose with dignity.  Wouldn"t say I have any favourites as such, but it"s amazing feat that Tikay can still play at his age... ;)

I do like Greg Raymer - could listen to him talk about poker for hours, and I like the way he handles himself.  Not sure on his socks & sandals look though... :o

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE ONLINE POKER SITE AND WHAT IS YOUR POKER ID THERE?

blondepoker.com for cash and PokerStars for tournaments

WHAT ARE YOUR POKER ACHIEVEMENTS?

I didn"t do too badly in Birmingham in the first APAT event... :o

WHAT DO YOU DISLIKE ABOUT LIVE POKER CURRENTLY, THAT YOU WOULD CHANGE?

Smoking"s gone - so that"s one down.  I"d like to see more affordable, well-structured tournaments that start at a decent time (so that people who have to work can enjoy them and still work the next day).

HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT APAT?

A friend told me about it just in time to register for the first live event.  Unfortunately, he didn"t get in, and I squeezed in from the reserve list.

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ABOUT APAT TOURNAMENTS, STANDARD OF PLAY AND STRUCTURE?

Excellent tournaments, well structured (although I do miss the 150/300 level  ;)), and all round great fun.  The standard of play varies - but some very decent players, and more importantly, some great people.

HAVE YOU PLAYED AT AN APAT LIVE EVENT AND IF SO, WHAT WAS MOST MEMORABLE ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE?

Brum was fairly memorable... :P

WHAT ARE YOUR MAIN INTERESTS OUTSIDE OF POKER?

Sport - play hockey and run (10Ks, half-marathons, etc.).  Watching sport - Boxing, football and rugby league (big Liverpool FC and Wigan RLFC fan).

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK OR FILM?

Recently read "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins - a cracking read.

WHAT THREE MUSIC ALBUMS WOULD YOU TAKE TO A DESERT ISLAND WITH YOU?

Thunder & Consolation - New Model Army
Vengeance - The Independent Story - New Model Army
Eight - New Model Army

(this is subject to change every few hours)

FINALLY, WHAT MESSAGE WOULD YOU LIKE TO LEAVE FOR YOUR FELLOW APAT MEMBERS?

If I bet, fold.

;D
