Bubble spot in live Sat
« on: May 07, 2013, 17:00:55 PM »
Situation arose on Sunday in Satellite to main event, Gukpt £30 rebuy 10 seats guaranteed, casino had put extra cash to make up 11 seats, we are on the bubble 12 left, one guy suggests everyone pays £45 all 12 players get a seat into £550 event what do you do in same cicumstances, as chip leader or seat guaranteed virtually or one of the short stacks.

All players left are all local regs and play with each other in both local casinos so we are all aware of each other.

If there is any doubt about having a seat locked up, I would jump at the chance.

If I had a seat locked up, I guess it would come down to the mood at the moment, and whether or not I was friendly with the other players etc.

Happens quite a bit at local and imo depends on a few factors:

As AMRN says if any doubt about the lock on seat then Im 100% going for it!!

If you got seat almost gtd then depends on how much u are in for in rebuy(assuming min £60 with add-on) and what your actual budget is to get a seat.

How short the other stacks are and would they be prepared to split your £45 to gtd themselves a seat?

How much u like the other players!!

Im still pretty much 100% going for it though as know what it is like to miss out on the seat cos some arse of CL wont put in the extra!!

If ur chip leader and got a lock on the seat tell them ur not paying for a seat but if the rest want to put the difference in to create the seat that"s up to them

I was in for £90, plus the couple of previous unsuccessful attempts so I was quite happy to pay the extra for the seat, we had one refusal so I got it in with 10 10 v k5 on the bubble, would of had a few chips left but was effectively my tourney life, it held so got seat.

The lad who bubbled is a decent and well known reg who is genuinely ok and I was happy to contribute to his seat as the other locals decided to all put £45 in the pot, the original refuser didn"t but thats his prerogative.

Again it was down to being local and players all known to one and other, hopefully this will be remembered in future situations were I might be the recipient.

Poker Karma may reciprocate at the weekend, if not, I will get a place upstairs by being decent, not too soon though, things to do, places to see.
