As promised i will announce my team for the up and coming trip to Prague for ECOAP.
I have had a good response for applicants as always, and many of those who applied for Nottingham also put their name forward for ECOAP, team selection was made easier for this reason. Saying that i also had some gut wrenching decisions that needed to be made as i could not fit a few of those other players in, but i hope they understand as they did, and have played for their country recently.
So the 3 pokerteers to join me in Sunny Prague in December will be the following......
Richard Baker..
Rich or better known to us as "Curly" will be an important addition to the squad, as he is adapt in both NLH and esp PLO.
Curly travels to every APAT event that i can think and his passion for poker and the craic that goes with it is plain to see, and his commitment is second to none!!
Curly has played lots of PLO on pokerstars and has had some nice scores, and recently bagged a 2k win live in Luton along with an added GPS seat, so lets hope he can get on a nice little heater and bring his form along with him to Prague.
A popular member of APAT and a top ambassador to go with it a very likeable chappy who im sure will be a popular pick for all of us.. Welcome aboard Curly.
Paul Haycock..
Paul or maybe some of you will recognise him as Pears27 is my next team mate to join us.
Paul has infact represented England before and was top points scorer at that event, winning all of his HU matches along the way. Paul was nominated in last years awards for his back to back deep runs in Dec/Jan at DTD his 1/210 for £6k and 13/700+ for £3k is more than impressive and with skills like this would be a worthy introduction to any team, and is an easy pick for myself. Paul attends many events for APAT and has recently terrorised the tables with his aggressive play at DTD last weekend being called the table "bully" shows he puts fear into the heads of his opponents.
Welcome aboard Paul i know you will fit into the squad nicely.
So the final pick for the team is no other than......
Tony Trippier
Tony is a APAT regular and needs no introduction!
I shouldnt ramble on much about his acheivments as im sure his head is big enuff already
, but i suppose its only fair i should say a few words about TT.
Tony is one of the nicest blokes you would wish to meet and will always welcome you on arrival at any APAT event. I hear he has also won the odd medal/Bracelet (jingle jangle) but wont bore you all with the details..
TT has a pretty impressive run making day2s of the last 3 events, was brutal to lose 26th last weekend when his KK was outflopped by AQ and then bubbled Coventry when his AA got busted by KK AIPF.
TT was a pivotal player in last years team event at WCOAP when indeed he clinched the final HU match v Italy to crown England as World Champions!! im thrilled Tony is making the journey to Prague and look forward to sharing the odd laugh along the way with him and the other two.. Welcome onboard sir!!
December seems along way off, but the excitment shown by all the squad is pretty special and im sure nearer the date the excitement will increase, and the focus on winning the event will grow stronger and stronger..
Im sure you all would like to share in my congratulations to the guys and show your full support for all of us in our quest to represent APAT in Prague.
