JM 4/9/13 Hand 3 How Badly did I play this with QTs ?
« on: September 10, 2013, 18:48:23 PM »
Stats of villain 21/10/0 of 63 hands. Is it ok to call raise pre flop here ? What about the flop and turn , check call on both ? When do we think in general terms is profitable to donk bet ?

Why are we min raising pre?

Think calling pre is fine, given we are probably up against a fish given villain stack size. If he makes his raise a bit bigger then its an easy fold.

I don"t know why we are donking flop. He will C bet this board texture a lot so just check call. Check call turn too and set him in on the river.

As played, can never fold. He is a short stack, expect to be winning a lot.

I am taking 21/10/0 to be VPIP/PFR/3Bet ??? If not let me know and I will correct this post.

So we are looking at a loose passive player? One who has never 3-bet before? Click back bets are often silly hands like AT or AJ though. I want to say this is a fold pre due to our position and reverse implied odds but in reality I probably call in game. I say fold as he has not 3-bet before so technically his range should have a lot of AA, KK and AQ tyoe hands in it, the fact he has min 3-bet puts doubt in my mind though.

The flop has to be good for our hand. Like Mark I am happy to check Call here and also check call the turn to pot commit him with all the parts of his range we beat. Then get whats is left in on the river, that will be our most profitable line, when you donk out on the flop he might fold and if he raises you are normally beaten.

Not folding as played though. Again will be interested in other responses to this one.

Still trying to think of something amusing to write in this bit.

Fold to villains 3b, you would need to be 150bb"s deep here for calling to be anyway profitable. We are only ~45 bb"s deep here so it"s a trivial fold.

yeah pre is bad out of position, although I know the price is really good.

I don"t get your postflop line against the preflop aggressor. Doubt he continues with much worse. We are still crushed by AA/KK (and QQ) because of the paired board but once you are in this spot I guess you have to call it off
Looking forward to making my first day 2

I think fold pre is best especaiily oop.
