Updated 7.12.2011................that"s 12.7.2011 in US currency  :P

1 - WHO ARE YOU?
Grant Speirs - "Santino" or "Fat Charlie Sheen"

2 - POST A PICTURE OF YOURSELF OR A LINK TO ONE (APAT OR OTHER)

and here"s my poker face.................

3 - WHERE DO YOU COME FROM?
Glasgow

4 - TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF?
I"m working part time for NHS 24 providing health services outwith GP opening hours.(ex) Employment Adviser helping unemployed people in Glasgow West and love it. Also really enjoy going to T In The Park/Festivals, Gigs, Travel, Good food and Reading. Also have a 2nd job, which means I don"t have as much spare time as I"d like.

5 - WHAT IS YOUR POKER BACKGROUND?
Watched Late Night Poker originally (when Simon Trumper had a pony-tail  :o ) A few years ago started at Willhill website in low stakes cash games then for a short while played at Cincinatti Club in Glasgow. Now try to play twice weekly at Gala Merchant City in Glasgow. Edit - not playing anywhere near enough live poker coz of the current job situation  >:(

6 - WHAT IS YOUR PLAYING STYLE?
Tight but very aggressive when I get premium cards. No doubt this will change with experience I gain when I"m a complete luckbox with lots of chips  ;D

7 - WHO IS YOUR FAVOURITE POKER PLAYER AND WHY?
Howard Lederer, seems to know when to lay down big cards when he"s 2nd best

8 - WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE ONLINE POKER SITE AND WHAT IS YOUR POKER ID THERE?
Only really played William Hill, used Santino67 but on tables name came up as gran***. Edit - Gave that up, joined Sky (67Santino) and gave that up as well as not a huge fan of 6 handed games. Betfair (Santino67) and 888 (SantinoAPAT) are the 2 sites that are most enjoyable and most lucrative for me so far.

9 - WHAT ARE YOUR POKER ACHIEVEMENTS?
Qualifying for the national final was as good as it gets so far. I"m still very inexperienced in live games but have managed to make money in over 50% of games i"ve entered so hope it continues.
Edit - APAT Scottish Live 2011 and APAT North America Omaha 2011 champion  ;D . Bubbled APAT Euro in Coventry 2010, played for Scotland A Team APAT Home Internationals 2011, Played for APAT Forum Team Luton 2011. 3 APAT individual Day 2"s so far.

10 - WHAT DO YOU DISLIKE ABOUT LIVE POKER CURRENTLY, THAT YOU WOULD CHANGE?
Players with bad body odour  >:(  Go take a shower or at the very least spray your self with something - Lynx, Old Spice, Mr Sheen, Fly killer.......who cares anything would smell better than BO. - Will NEVER edit this!!!

11 - HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT APAT?
Through Billyho

12 -WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ABOUT APAT TOURNAMENTS, STANDARD OF PLAY AND STRUCTURE?
The fact I"ve not had a lot of live experience means I don"t have any comparisons but I thoroughly enjoyed the regional qualifier and national final. Edit - Just fantastic, the people, the atmosphere, the structure, the venues. Superb weekends that are hard to beat.

13 - HAVE YOU PLAYED AT AN APAT LIVE EVENT AND IF SO, WHAT WAS MOST MEMORABLE ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE?
The Scottish regional qualifier and national final this year. Given my lack of experience I was really chuffed that I made the top 7 in the qualifier and having over 25% of the chips at the final table felt I"d played well all day. Also loved the atmosphere at both and met some great characters.

Edit - Now played in 9 live APATs including the Home Internationals and Team events. They"re always memorable (when sober)  :D The standard of play is always great but the people I"m now privileged to be friends with is the real reason for going now.

14 - WHAT ARE YOUR MAIN INTERESTS OUTSIDE OF POKER?
Listening to music and regularly go to gigs. Anywhere, anyone....doesn"t matter. Some of the best gigs I"ve been to I shouldn"t really have been at in the first place. Love travelling as well and if I can combine both then even better.

15 - WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK OR FILM?
Book - Lord Of The Rings (for it"s adventure and absolute fantasy)
Film - Shawshank Redemption (a complete and utter triumph of a film with arguably the 2 best performances ever seen)

16 - WHAT THREE MUSIC ALBUMS WOULD YOU TAKE TO A DESERT ISLAND WITH YOU?
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Radiohead - Hail To The Thief
Gary Numan - Dance

So many others I could choose as well. Can"t I just take a 100 zillion zetagigabytes mp3 player with me?  ;D

17 - FINALLY, WHAT MESSAGE WOULD YOU LIKE TO LEAVE FOR YOUR FELLOW APAT MEMBERS?
I"m really looking forward to playing more and gaining more experience so thank you all in advance for helping me through it. Yes, Thank You All Indeed! I can only add it"s been an awesome 3 years

Continue being the legends that you are and I"ll keep coming back for more when I can!

And watch yourselves when I get good cards....Edit - and/or luck and a bundle of chips  ;)

thursday at the mint is a good game of poker, better than the merchant, just a little dearer and if you make final table is likely to last to bout 3am! I have been bout half a dozen times and made the final table 3 times i think. on two occasions i got the bubble prize (6th) of dinner for two in the casino restaurant...living up to my billybubbleboy casino nickname  :-[ nice meal though, and sharon enjoyed it too!
i also busted on my very first hand one of the times too with pocket kings against pocket queens that surprise surprise improved to trips  :o  £27.50 for one hand of poker, needless to say it took me a while to get over and i have only been once since then.

I heard they have started up a deepstack (10k) at the mint on a sunday afternoon (2.30pm i think) so not as late a night, which i might try on sunday if im not to hungover from the wedding :-\

Yeah it was good seeing you mate. I was back in last night as well and we had a 55 runner field, but what a crazy lot turned up though. Early on there were 4 bingo callers at my table and I couldn"t get any of their chips as I got very few even marginal hands to rob them. One guy went all in with AA and was called by J3  :o That"s how bad they were.

Amazingly the J3 hit a flush and knocked out AA but not so amazingly the J3 guy then filtered his chips around everyone else and got bumped not too long later.

From level 3 I had 12k without picking much up and then levels 4-6 I got absolute garbage. 93, j2, 72 for an hour. Monster chip stack 2 to my right kept raising and I eventually took a stand for 9.2k with A9 against his A4, he called but unfortunately another limper joined in with AJ and his held up to triple up.

Still finished 12th of 55 with dreadful cards most of the night so can"t complain at how I played.

Hope you make it to Dublin but if not will catch up with you again soon.

Cheers
