fair comment,,an easy solution is impossible i suppose,,apat is just too dam popular lol,,,my comments were not meant to offend,,,was just tryin to think of a better way of doing things,,i thought at least 90% of the entrants would be online players,,,,anyway who am i to tell people how to run things lol,,,,as i said to all those who have the tough job of keeping everyone happy,,well done,,keep up the good work !!!!

Davey,

All feedback is gratefully received.  As you mentioned, the popularity makes it a tough thing to manage.  We feel we have the balance about right at the moment, but as always, we are constantly monitoring peoples feedback and views.

Many thanks,

Leigh

As someone who played all three satellites and failed.  Then failed the clickfest due to pretty annoying quirk, can I just say one thing to the moaning minnies out there.

GET A GRIP!!!!

The system as it stands works as fairly as any, no-one has a devine right to a seat and its a credit to APAT that they can generate so much interest.

Rather than complaining, lets applaud all at APAT for their hard work in making this monster.

PS Can I have a seat now!!!!!

It was my first experience of the clickfest, and to my horror when i went to put details in, found out you couldnt use a credit card and that all the acceptable debit cards were no use either as all my cards are visa debit which i thought were the most popular. So looks like i need to get a new card just to be in with a shout at the next clickfest.

As it sold out in 2 mins last year, why wasnt this years tourny expanded to include an extra day and have 2  days of 200 players playing down to a final 100 for the sunday, like they have for the GUKPT.

It did say on the homepage that

1. Credit cards couldn"t be used
2. Visa Debit card holders should choose the Delta option

Think I agree with the idea of a "bigger tourney". APAT clearly has the good name and support to make it a success.
I"m sure this would need quite a bit more planning but would ultimately be massively popular.

Well done APAT!

I think the current way of entry is the only fair way. I am totally gutted I didnt get a seat! I thought I would have as I had been poised at the cpu for a good hour waiting. I think the great thing about the APAT is the chance to play in big tournaments for a cheap price. I think it is a brilliant idea and am in no way critizing it. I think it would be a good move to make the fields larger, to have a national amatuer champs with the same size fields as regular tournaments would be amazing. I know this would pose alot of logistical problems, but would be awesome.

Just thought I would contribute to the debate, and whilst i can understand people"s disappointment at missing out on a seat, there seems to be a complete over reaction from some.

The main thing to remember is that the tournaments are all for amateurs run by volunteers who sacrifice a lot for our enjoyment.  The completion of Season 3 has generated a lot of excitement and everyone is keen to play, especially with even more people becoming involved due to the online league.  With this in mind the first tournament was always going to be in huge demand and people are unfortunately going to miss out, everyone needs to accept this as it will continue to be like this I feel all year.

Some poor comments have been made and not retracted yet on some threads.  I started playing APAT associated tournaments last year and have enjoyed getting to know many people online and at the live events, I wasn"t a regular name but managed to play at the European, Scottish, Irish and World Amateur main event, I qualified for one via satellites and managed to get seats throught the clickfest for the others and was fortunately never disappointed, but I"m sure I will be this year.

So, some need to have a reality check, remember it"s run by volunteers, we are all amateurs, we enjoy the live events if we get to them, they are superb, but they are not guaranteed for anyone.

Be thankful we have this great organisation that provides us the opportunity to socialise, enjoy poker for extremely good value.

See you all in Walsall !!

Don

Even the professionals are getting overloaded.
I played the £300 Deepstack Jan 3rd at DTD and anyone who was there will know that it was total chaos with people still not registered an hour after the tourney started.
Poker is just VERY popular at the moment and long may it last!
I try so hard to be grumpy, and then along comes a smile!
