Thanks APAT members :-\
« on: February 10, 2009, 00:44:35 AM »
As some of the members on here know i have taken the decision to leave the country and set my eyes to New Zealand.

The Walsall event was my swansong and it was there for me to have a few drinks with some friends in the poker community and attempt (poorly) to take down a title.

Now i had a great time at this event, the cardroom staff were really nice to myself and the members i was with.  My biggest thanks goes to Liz on the cash table who was dealing who took the time to get to know our names and call us by our name and treat us like a human instead of just a punter and share in with the banter at the table while the beer flowed.

Despite the one member which we all know had a few too many and took the chips.  The cash table was great fun and it was a shame he did that as he was great value and easy chips ;)

Now i get home from this great weekend with alot of profit and some great memories of having a few drinks and general drunken antics.  Some in a strip club in Walsall!! LOL

However i do have some slight beef with certain members being a little angry about a very good friend of mine who came to celebrate with me and play some poker.  Now we all know the persons name and i know the thread has been deleted by her request but i would like to add my two cents.

One thing which got me going was i know her very well and i know if anyone who had a problem with her should have told her there and then instead of posting on a forum.  Now if any of the players were hacked off and mentioned something and then it carried on then fair enough.  However from what i have been told and heard etc apart from people laughing not much else was said.

I understand the decision that APAT have made regarding this and i do deem it to be a little harsh.  Maybe a one match ban so to speak as a caution would be better and a warning that if it happens again there will be a further ban.  But like i said the spirits were high in our group as we were celebrating as well.

Please dont take this as me apologising for her one bit but i hope it helps you understand a little bit more why this happened and not that its a regular thing.

Anyway all the best guys its been a good craic meeting the various characters here and i wish you all the best in future events

Of course we can understand you standing up for your friend. At the end of the day APAT have had a good look at the weekend and decided what, if any, action is required for the good of APAT going forward. Its their baby....their call.
I think your friend made an excellent post with a heartfelt apology, and I"m sure she will be welcomed backed in the future.
I must say I have just read your SW Poker Forum, and I can understand some of your members who want to show support, are annoyed, but I think some of the comments are quite disgraceful regarding APAT.
Glad you had a great send off........all the best and good luck in NZ.
