will txt u both. the reason i dont enjoy playing online is that i find it boring and have the attention span of a goldfish. when im playing live there is a usually a conversation about some general bullcrap and i find it stimulates my brain(if there is no conversation then i usually start one unless someone is in the thinktank then silence is golden) but online it feels like a computer game, i have had gta4 for about a year and only completed 4% of it, point example. i find it hard to describe what it is but i cant concentrate half as much when staring at a computer screen, maybe create a game where i could predict the age of the player or guess which room they are playing on their computer/laptop, that makes sense to me. i play poker subconciously as in i can talk while tanking about a decision unlike most.

btw, i only bluff when its correct to according to sklanksy theory of poker.

norwich poker club do some reasonably deep tourneys for quite good buyins simon, only 5-10 mins from yours surely and the cash game is ssssoooooooo juicy, worth a look. shame i have moved in with the girlfriend (bugger)

Ant, I"ve a few things things to clarify from our previous posts on this subject.

1) Going back to your first post, s**t happens, you"ll just have to get used to it. Content yourself with the knowledge that if that same situation comes up again, you"ll be a winner in the long run.
2) As for my comment about bluffing, it doesn"t really relate to this post, but was intended as a genuine attempt to give a bit of useful advice. Think back to those sparsely populated, but competitive, events at the Grosvenor Yarmouth. I can think of 6 players, including myself, who picked-up on an almighty tell you give off when you"re bluffing. Clearly, I"m not going to give it away on here(I"ll PM if you want), but it was the main reason why I suggested having a rethink of the hands you play.
3) Justifying something by referring to Harrington or Sklansky is asking for trouble. (a) most of your opponents will have read those books as well, so will be able to spot someone playing by those rules (b) If at any point during a hand your process involves "What would Sklansky/Harrington do", that suggests you really don"t know where you stand and you should make a sharp exit.
4) If concentration is a problem, then don"t play at all. Try setting yourself a time limit, say 1 hour, then turn off any distractions and play for no longer than the time you set

hi ant, just posted in another thread you wrote a while back. i wud just add to this that for online play your prolly playing 10x more hands (at least) then you are live, the result of this is that the frequency of suckouts is higher! Which increases tilt factor

How many times do you remember pushing some off a better hand in an online session, hows it feel? inconspicuous is the word in comparison to someone sucking out on u.  but the ratios are prolly just the same as live but as you can crack out more hands it happens more

loosing always hurts more then winning, moreso when the frequency of events is increased

cheers simon, this sunday they have a £50 f/o 10k starting stack, starts at 5pm. i unfortunatley cant make it this weekend due to the tv licence bill coming this month(amongst other bills)

im pretty sure of the tell that told everyone i was bluffing (i entered the pot lol) but can you pm me please as i am interested in to what you spotted as it might be different.

i know that 99% of players have read these books so yeah using a quote out of a book is super ameturish but i do use them and adapt the info to my style and it has been profitable to some extent.

i know that my concentration is a problem but im working on it and after a bit of time i will be back to beat online

and by the way s*** does happen, next time ill have them
3rd place £25 double chance freezeout grosvenor yarmouth
4th place £35 triple chance freezeout norwich poker club
1st place £5 rebuy palace casino yarmouth
1st place £10 freezeout geldeston's spieler

Most people think that physical tells last forever, and "once i figure out a persons tell they are going to do it everytime i play them". But in general they dont.
Everyone gives away information all the time, but on another day and in another tourny or cash game they will be giving of different physical tells. (it never happens like it does in Rounders) Hard to explain but the way i see it, everytime you sit down on a new day, evan if you know the players, you have to figure out their body languague all over again. Evan with betting patterns, people will subconciously change their betting habbits from time to time. Maybe one day they will take a free card with a draw, and the next day they will bet a draw.

so Antthecat, dont worry if they think they have figured you out. because its in the vault now.

And on another note. Im so sorry Tony Tee, you are right, you are the best.
