Hi Guys, although I"ve been an APAT member for a while I"ve not really been on the sites boards, so here"s my 1st topic starter. Wanted to know what people"s opinions were when playing in the following situation:
The tourney is approaching the bubble
You have 15-25 BBs left
I"m sure most people would be in agreement that stacks of 15ish BBs are obvious shove/fold situations no matter what the stage of the tourney.
I guess I"m wondering about whether we should be employing simple blind stealing plays with say 25BBs. You can imagine that in raising, then cbetting a flop with 25BBs, if you face resistance with no hand yourself you have to fold. You automatically catapult yourself into 15BB territory earlier then you would"ve been if a steal attempt goes wrong. Additionally, steal attempts are always harder to execute on active aggressive tables.
Would a valid alternative be to use all in re-steals as a technique in these situations? This would be in the form of coming over the top of an active player"s late position raise. You obviously put your tourney at risk and potentially go out close to the bubble, but whats the alternative? Min cashing?
What do others think, and is this a play which can be done with any 2 cards?
