APAT Academy is an initiative designed to help improve the playing ability of our members. The Academy will offer players access to some great live and online tuition and strategy tips.
The Academy will offer APAT members access to intensive live tuition from professional instructors and online tuition from one of the world"s leading poker training sites, CardRunners.com, who include World Series of Poker bracelet winners and high stakes cash game specialists like Brian Townsend amongst their team.
In addition, a growing library of strategy articles from both CardRunners.com and PokerPlayer magazine will be made available to members.
Academy LiveLive tuition will be offered over a single day and hosted at leading licensed UK casinos. Each training day will cater for up to 20 players at a cost of £99 each. Instructors will cover topics such as multi-table tournament play in early, middle and late stages, game selection and bankroll management, the importance of psychology and tells at the poker table and more.
Each Academy Live day will also feature a masterclass run by a well known professional player, sharing insights into their playing style, followed by an in-depth question and answer session. Recent European Poker Tour and Grosvenor UK Poker Tour winner Julian Thew will feature in the inaugural masterclass, while online specialist Paul "ActionJack" Jackson will run the second masterclass in the series.
Academy OnlineOnline tuition will be free to all APAT members, who will have access to a series of exclusive CardRunners.com training videos. In addition, APAT National Champions will each receive free one-on-one tuition from CardRunners.com lead instructors, while the top twenty players in the APAT rankings at the end of Season One will each receive a free two month CardRunners.com membership.
Strategy LibraryIn addition, CardRunners; in association with APAT Academy, will provide a monthly strategy article to PokerPlayer magazine, and training videos relating to the article will reside on the APAT Academy website at
www.apatacademy.com.
The APAT Academy website will also host a growing strategy library for use by APAT members.
