Sunday 4th July - last game of this session
« on: June 29, 2010, 17:26:51 PM »
Now as things stand we can neither win this league nor can we get relegated. So people are probably thinking, why bother turning up on Sunday. I for one think that it is very important to turn out in force this Sunday and play. The fight for the top and the one remaining relegation spot will be intense and I think we owe it to ourselves and the league to be in the mix. It will make for a very interesting night.

We have three in so far today.....

Phase one of the on-line league has reached its ultimate confrontation with game 10 of 10.  It has been a goodly contest in all divisions but there is a theme running through it. Enthusiasm abounded at the start but as the numbers show the initial euphoria tapered off. Division 1 on day one had over 150 runners and Liverpool had 18 of those as the weeks progressed the numbers dwindled until last week when we had only 7 runners and total runners was a fraction of the first day's overall numbers. It would seem that if you didn't score early points people gave up and lost interest.

What of Phase 2, I hope it gets more support from all concerned as the added value is very good, but I worry.

Let's play on tonight and put the cat amongst the pigeons we might not be able to win this but we can influence the result. I fully understand peoples retinence to play as we cannot either win or get relegated. However your support through the season has been appreciated and it has been fun.......

I think the same happened last year (numbers dwindling that is) and I think that in some part had a big influence on Cardiff (my team) getting back into the competition as we didnt score a single point till week 4 .

That said we do have a good strong following across all the clubs and its good to be able to build friendships/rivalries with players you know. This nucleus of players will be playing regardless of their table position
