Socks / no socks

No white socks with any form of shoe that is not in the "trainers" family.

White socks are for sport ONLY.

Went to see John Bishop last night, I'm there in trousers and shoes, the weather is a 10 force gale when a bloke walks in wearing what I call gay pants, too long for shorts but not long enough for trousers and FLIPFLOPS (no socks) looked like he just walk of the beach. Outside was like being in the Amazon in the rainy season

A few years ago Asda in Merthry Tydfil sold more pairs of white socks per year than any other Asda store in the country, Fact.

They still walk around Merthyr with their black shoes, black trousers and WHITE socks. So if you ever see any one dressed like that they"re probably from Merthyr.

What has happened to the concept that you can wear what you like in these more liberated days? You will see some fairly weird get-ups at the WCOAP next month and you won"t comment on them, so why does everyone follow along one particular tenet that a guy shouldn"t keep his feet comfy by wearing socks if he likes? Pretty narrow-minded, I think.
