you dont have to play cash games to get or use holdem manager

Oops, no offence intended, i thought you meant you played raked hands to qualify for the free software, and I actually meant good point, i"d forgotten to mention this route. Also wasn"t sure if this suits him. More replies the more data and better for him to decide.

Cheers Paul :)

This begs the question, Can Paul actually insult anyone, is he capable of this?

isnt that software kind of cheating. knowing what percentage of hands they fold, bet and call.

doesnt seem right IMO it seems like cheating

There is no law against it and while the majority of opponents are using it, it would put you in a severe disadvantage to not use.

It not cheating because all the information you are using is available to all players.

True but the information is used by the s/w to do things beyond most peoples abilities. So in a way it is cheating if you aint able to do what the s/w does for you in the same time frame. If you took a computer to a live table and said I"m collecting information freely available to all and using it to my advantage, they would say that is cheating and chuck you out ;) Initially many online sites tried to ban even HUD"s but nowadays they"ve had to just let it happen as it"s not preventable.

Basically as the information is available to all then you are not doing yourself any favours by not having it if you want to play seriously. Online is a different beast to live and some players can"t get their heads round that for some reason.

I wonder if anyone"s ever tried to work out a % hindrance that not buying the software puts you under.

Durrrr, Ivey and Antonius have all stated that they have never used a HUD. They seem to be doing fine witout it. Especially durrrr, and Antonius they basically built  bankrolls from the smaller stakes multitabling.
