Wow, that was very naive of them. I like the Alea alot. It has a friendly atmosphere and the cash games are fairly predictable/value.

It came in 19, but he ordered the croupier to pay out on 8 instead. Like that"s ever gonna work!!  Hardly a decent fraud attempt.

Probably best he got a jail sentence, for the moron"s own safety it"s probably best he isn"t allowed to use escalators, microwaves etc for a while.

They could have had a good poker room. Just about anybody I have spoke to at Gala said they would prefer to play at Alea but they did not back the Tournaments with guarantees or promotions.

Shame, it was my favourite casino in Leeds. I played there Friday and won!

Surely most guarantees are pointless as they are surpassed anyway?

If people had supported it then it would have stayed open. The Gala is nowhere near as good IMO.

Guarantees are not pointless and are not always met, this certainly happened when Alea first opened and also ask the guys at DTD whether they are vital, they certainly have had some big overlay in the past.

In terms of poker Alea struggled in the guarantee war with Gala. Alea was a far better place to play and run better but didn"t really try to compete once Gala raised the stakes a couple of months after Alea opened. However I imagine the casino"s success or ultimate failure has little to do with poker but the fact that no gambling punters went in because of its location and the fact that the rest of Clarence dock failed
Looking forward to making my first day 2
