Hi all you lucky ppl who got entry to the Scottish championship,  thought i would advise you all about the possible travel options in the area.

If you have booked accom away from Maybury you have two options..

the bus or taxi...

the bus numbers 31 and X48 stop just over the road from the Gala, outside the Marriot hotel..  fares on lothian buses are single £1.10 or daysaver £2.50(unlimited travel)  ensure you have exact change as they dont give any change...

your other option is the taxi.....   your guess on costs is as good as mine, but would recommend the black taxis  not the private hires....(hammerheid may want to come in on this post about here)..... he needs to pay for his trip/entry to ireland if he can  ::)

enjoy the weekend all who are going and good luck, i may even pop along myself for a pint or three!

Thx for that info Ken mucho appreciated.  With this fuel strike, I heard on radio that Lothian Buses were probably gonna stop early week due to no Diesel.  Will this continue right thru to next weekend?

Havent heard an update on radio for a while so not sure what the current situation is.

Im toiling to get petrol, garages keep shutting and opening at different times to slow down the distribution to customers.  Reports say they have fuel coming in from Europe but it doesnt seem to reflect on my local garages, they are running out due to peeps panic buying.

Will the buses be running normally this week ken?

I will be walking from my accommodation to the casino.  I think it"ll take approximately 1 minute (plus or minus 30 seconds).

I run good at booking rooms.

too be honest they have us all comming in as usual and supposedly they had a delivery under police escort on friday,  cant really see them having 1500 drivers sitting around doing nothing and getting paid for it....... mores the pity....

so for the moment the buses will be running as normal but keep a watch on the news for any developments, if i hear anything will let you all know but on hols myself as of wed..
