Heads Up Fail?
« on: April 20, 2014, 10:19:07 AM »
Managed to get to my second big final table and cash since focusing more on online poker.

After what felt like a really long and enjoyable heads up against a fellow Brit there were two big folds I made and wanted to get peoples opinions. If I was wrong then they cost me 1st place. One of the key hands is here below and the other I will post later.

*********** # 513 **************
PokerStars Hand #114988420524: Tournament #894188533, $5.00+$0.50 USD Hold'em No Limit - Level XXXVII (20000/40000) - 2014/04/18 21:28:00 ET
Table "894188533 62" 9-max Seat #8 is the button
Seat 5: andyhuk (2811450 in chips)
Seat 8: TheSlyWolf (1871550 in chips)
andyhuk: posts the ante 5000
TheSlyWolf: posts the ante 5000

andyhuk: posts big blind 40000

andyhuk: calls 40399

TheSlyWolf: bets 52947
andyhuk: calls 52947
*** TURN *** [Qh 5s 5d] [Ah]
andyhuk: bets 200000
TheSlyWolf: calls 200000
*** RIVER *** [Qh 5s 5d Ah] [As]
andyhuk: checks
TheSlyWolf: bets 507519
TheSlyWolf said, "fold"
andyhuk: folds
Uncalled bet (507519) returned to TheSlyWolf
TheSlyWolf collected 676692 from pot
TheSlyWolf: doesn"t show hand
*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot 676692 | Rake 0

Two reasons why I folded. One, people don"t usually talk about their hands unless they are strong and I had seen him do this earlier to an opponent when he had the nuts. Also he very rarely bet big on any street. Just felt very polarising.

I was also not feeling very well at all and was very tired and being conscious of that I think I started to tighten up.

What do people think and thanks as always for the feedback.
