Just back from a great weekend and thanks to Tom and Matt for their great work to keep the event running smoothly. My weekend started on Friday night with the usual suspects and the night was the usual mix of catching up with old friends and drinking a few pints. I played the £25 local comp and somehow managed to make the ft along with Warren and Susie, so apat were well represented in a field of around 150 runners. Warren was as usual bossing it all but got his queens cracked by tens all in pre. I survived to the last 3 and at about 5.15am with blinds at 25k/50k with a 10k ante we chopped it up and I collected a nice £760 for my efforts. Good news for me and some of my fellow team mates as we agreed a split on all winnings and with warren winning a couple of hundred too there was a nice amount to divi up. A few hours kip and back to the casino for the team event. It was played in great spirit and once the field had been reduced to 100 (when you start to score points) we had three players remaining. Warren (of course), dave pilkington and myself. Dave exited late on day 1 but well done on scoring valuable points for the team. Warren had over 100k at the end of day 1 and I was on about 70. We could not win at this stage but that"s no real excuse for my early exit on day 2. I got a bit carried away with suited connectors and was one of the first exits on day 2. Warren battled on valiantly but fell short of the money. We finished in a respectable position and I"d like to thank all of the team for being such great company and representing apat so well. I spent the rest of Sunday drinking lager as by this stage the teams had drunk the bar dry of guinness and john smiths, which we could probably have predicted before the event! I played some Omaha for a few hours to put me in the mood for Dublin, then went back to the hotel at about 9.30 tired and pokered out. Well done to the winners and as always it"s the people who make apat events so special. Sorry we didn"t win but sometimes (eg when you lose) it"s not about the winning but taking part. Finally, sorry for the lack of paragraphs in this message I"m on my iPad and can"t work out how to start a new one. Thanks for making me captain I really enjoyed the experience and feel the team did the forum credit. See you all in Dublin......
