I am generally a balanced player, I don"t really tilt, I don"t shout and scream when I hit, I acknowledge my good luck, know when I play well and (try to) learn when I play badly but I have had an incredibly bad run lately...
The point of this post is to share the burden I"m currently feeling. If a problem shared is a problem halved then thanks to all the APAT-ers out there I may only be left with 0.2% of the burden
Act I: It started on Monday...
My regular £15 +£5 F/O at my local casino. I can be self-depricating* at times but I can honestly say that I was out within 40 minutes despite having played every hand perfectly. After 10 minues or so I had made a couple of nice moves and built my 4,000 starting stack closer to 6,000.
Blinds are 50/100 I look down at jc
UTG and decide to limp. SB raises to 300 there is no-one behind me to act so I call.
Flop is
th x SB leads out for 250 - way too cheap to pass
Turn qd Happy Days - SB leads for 500 I make it 1500 he goes all in, I call (I have him covered by 1200 or so)
He Turns over kh kd - River is jh giving him the higher straight
I manage to re-build to 2,500 before having :as: tc busted by qd jc (he hit flush AND straight by the turn)
Act II: Statistically the worst bad beat I have ever suffered
Wednesday - Same venue £30 + £10 Bounty +£5
Starting with 5,000, having been down to 3,000 I am back up to 7,000. We have 3 players seeing the flop - 1st position is a good cash player who generally gets impatient in tourneys, 2nd position is a good aggressive semi-pro.
Holding jd th I see the dream flop of
. Player A checks, Player B goes all-in for 2,500 (this hand is playing itself for me) I have a look at PLayer A"s stack (about 4k) and decide to shove rather than call. Player turns over :as:
so I am miles ahead.

I have never felt more like kicking things in Poker.
I depart later on losing a race with AK v 33
Act III: Biggest Tourney Bad Beat
Statistically less of a bad beat than the above but because of the tourney situation and the potential this hurt more.
Virgin Festival In Newcastle this weekend (I would rather have been at Cardiff but it was not meant to be).
Despite playing like an idiot for 2 levels and getting down to 2,600 from 10,000 I managed to get up to 21,000 at one point. By the time this scenario came about I have a stack of 12,000 Blinds are 600 / 1200 a100. A player in early position raises to 3,500 ad I look down at kh ks so I shove all-in (there has been a lot of raising and folding to re-raises on this table). He turns over ad kc

Right, I"ve got that of my chest... I plan to take a little break and maybe play some really small stakes for the time being but I hope to see you all in Dublin.
*I quite like self-depricating humour....... but I"m not very good at it
