Royal Flush
« on: March 19, 2009, 22:44:41 PM »
Good News:  Hit my first ever royal flush tonight!

Bad News:  Not a cash game, but a micro stakes 6 player SnG.  Villain folded to my river bet.

Good News:  Won the SnG!

Next one due in 2011 at this rate!

i wonder how many royals someone like doyle brunson has had in his 50+ years of experiance. probably just one or two i would say.

i was lucky enougeh to get one at a regional last season at walsall, using  td qd in the hole ....a few thousand hands since and no sign of another one.....

:D  Only just saw it was my 100th post - must be fate or something!

Seriously, though - had  ks  ts, flop came down with  :as:  qs and then  js arrived on the river.

By 2011, hopefully I"ll be at a $20 NL table full of deep stacked and board illiterate fish!

Had 6 Royals - 4 in SNGs and took huge pots every time. 1 in MTT and only had a shortstack in the hand to take a few chips from. 1 in a .50/1 cash game on a really chip-heavy table..... and having limped with JQs, I hit the royal on the flop, and managed to just pick up the blinds :(

I had a royal flush in the freeze-out in Blackpool at the end of last Month.
Made it on the turn and got bet into, guy checks the river
I unfortunately had to ask before i bet," Is there a payout for a Royal Flush?"

                 LMAO :D

That"ll teach me to check these things before hand, wasn"t really expecting to get one though.

In Birkenhead they have a kitty that builds up, Anyone makes Royal flush wins it, or you can get 10% of the kitty for a straight flush.
The main thing is though, the hand has to go to a showdown to win the money.
They actually had one time where a guy was checking it to the river and his opponent folded his hand(Perhaps didn"t want to show his poor hole cards?)
The fella never got paid, no showdown >:(

That is why i had to ask the question, and even though i said it in a joking manner, as if a bluff, i couldn"t extract anymore chips.

Never mind, perhaps the next time :"(
