Regional Events - Leg1 - Walsall
« on: September 29, 2007, 09:52:02 AM »
According to the Regional Events Schedule there is a Leg 1 tournament at Walsall on 6th October at 2:30pm.

Any idea why this is not included in the October Walsall Cardroom Schedule?

Yeah I noticed this as well Sharky. I thought the other scheduled tournament(s) on the same day could just about be run concurrently with the APAT regional tournament. But looking at it again, the 3:30 Rookie tournament will probably have to be cancelled.

I can"t see them cancelling a tournament that is on their monthly schedule as this gets posted out to hundreds of players!

Just spoken to the manager at Walsall.

The APAT qualifier has not been advertised on the website because they did not want any confusion to occur with regular players of the rookie tournament, due to start at 3:30pm.

The APAT qualifier will go-ahead, with a 2:30pm start.

The doors of the casino are due to open at 1:30pm, an hour before kick off. I would suggest that anybody wanting to play at that venue arrives early as you"ll need to join the casino before you can play, and provide a valid ID; passport, picture drivers license etc.

I"m sure more definitive instructions will be posted on the forum before next Saturday.

That"s an excellent question, and one I don"t believe anyone can answer.

This is the first season to have Regional qualifiers, as pointed out by Kinboshi (Daniel) in another thread, so until the first one has been completed it would be difficult for anyone to predict. Even then, it would depend on the number of players that turn up to play, up to a maximum of 80.

All I can say is that the starting stack for each player will be 3,000 and the blind levels will be 30 minutes in duration - the existing National structure can be found just off the home page.
