Paradise Series of Poker @ The International Club London
« on: August 27, 2009, 15:12:44 PM »
I am playing the £100 + 50 (one re-buy or add on) tonight at 7pm.

Full programme of events:

[edit - link removed]

I am missing most of this due to prior arrangements (clashes with APAT this week) - but some decent stuff in there.

Last night Martin Silke won the 80 runner £200 F/O - again I had commitments elsewhere.

Match Report: Part 1

£100 + 50 rebuy or add on.

25 min levels - 5000 chips and a re-buy or add on - which I bought immediately.

I decided to play 76s out of position to a solid raise 25/50 - raise to 350 - loads of limpers - put opponent on a big pair.

Flop 769 rainbow ... ideal ... checked and called bet.

Turn J ... check and called bet ...

River J ... ****** ... I check and fold to the 2/3 pot bet ... down to 8000 ...

The rest of the first three levels to the break were absurd.

I raised with 66 and everyone folded.

Part 2 - not sure what happened to the last message - but the word processor seemed to go nuts ...

Anyway - in the first 75mins my starting hands were 66 and 33 ... I had to fold the 33 to two raises.

Nothing better than A8 otherwise.

Break ... time to reflect ... being card dead at the start aint so bad ... if the cards then flow after the break.

Hand 1 - 22 on the button I limp.

Flop Q27 - two hearts.

The three limpers check to me ... I bet 2/3 the pot ... they all fold ... mmm ...

Hand 2 - AA ... 100/200(25) ... early position raised to 900 ...

Not trying to be too cute I raise to 3000 .. he goes all in for 9900 ... I am covered just ...

He flips QQ ... and slays me with the first card of the flop.

Talk last night was that that"ll be the most popular event in the series. Might be worth an early arrival. Can"t remember the cap - they"ve all been 80 so far.

No idea how they will fit 200 players per day ... but that is the theory ... should be an excellent tournament ... 90 min levels ... however I am in Nottingham for the APAT Main Event.

Next week is the £1000 main event - again I am away (at a stag do).

Good luck!
