Too late for London?
« on: March 25, 2010, 01:31:25 AM »
Hi,

Just received recent Poker Player Magazine, and found about the London APAT Amateur Championship. I would really love to play this, is it still possible getting a seat?

There are still some seats available on Betfair.

Nice one, looks like you have a seat.

Yeah, glad I got the seat, it"s awkward when they only put the seat numbers down.
This is my first time at an APAT tournament, so could someone give me some advice:

1) When should I get down there for (heard it starts at 1:30pm this time around, instead of the usual 2:30pm.)
2) How do I go about signing up for the day?
3) Anything else that"s good to know?

Can"t wait to play guys, really looking forward to it.

Firstly, arriving anytime after 12.30 would be fine. I"m not entirely sure what time they"ll open the doors but it never hurts to be early. If you haven"t been to a Grosvenor or G Casino before, you will need to sign up be a member. Passport or Photo Driving Licence will be required.

Secondly, once you"re in, make your way to the Poker Room (2nd Floor IIRC) and I imagine that they"ll have already signed you up to the tourney. If not, look for the guys hunched around laptops and looking frazzled and they"ll set you straight.

Thirdly, you bet...if I raise...fold!
