Board: 9h - 6h - Qc

Paul bets 50k, Rich calls.

Turn: Jd

Check check.

River: 2d

Paul checks, Rich bets 90k. Paul calls. Rich shows 7-8 for the missed straight draw. Paul shows K-5 for the pot.

Blinds are now 12,000/24,000.

Just to clear this hand up a bit. My table image wasn"t that bad! Paul didn"t call with K high!

The board was:

Board: 9h-6h-Kc-Jd-2d

and he almost passed his K. Nice call tho Paul.

Thanks Rich...your call on the flop and bet on the river had me worried...after you had mentioned before how you were going to (and eventually did) play AA, I thought you might have been trapping.

For me, the call was a semi-inspired "feck it, I might be winning...I just gotta know!" call.

Excellent stuff Rich - well deserved as well.  The only champ so far to have made two final tables in the Nationals (I think).

Ger and the others said they"d hope you"d win so you could tell them all about it during the home games.  They said they were really looking forward to you giving them an in-depth account of the two days.

The king is dead - long live the king (remember the title"s only on loan though....I want it back next year ;D).

Congrats to you Rich...well played! Well done everyone else that cashed.
Top reporting as always....just wish I could have been there.
Off to try my luck at Manchester on Saturday.

Just wanted to offer my congratulations to the champ and say thanks to the APAT team for a cracking weekend.  Got knocked out after dinner on the Saturday but after it took me over 7 hours to travel down from Scotland (damn overturned lorry) I was definitely making the weekend of it.  Played the casino"s own tournaments on sat evening/sun afternoon and watched bit of APAT final table, could get use to spending full weekends in a casino!!  Great to meet number of people from the forum, especially Jennifer Harman and Marco Traniello (sorry I mean Ian and Caz  :)and get a chance to thank Des in person for everything he and the team do.  Thanks very much for the drink as well Des....... though are you sure the Grosvenor charge for a glass of water  ;)  Cheers again to all and congratulations Richard, that trophy will look mighty good on any mantelpiece!

Read through it all now.

Excellent updates. Just revisited the hands and it"s great to have a record of it  ;)

Only got Aces once during the whole tournament, had to make the most of them!

Thanks for the support, especially Jas who obviously had nothing better to do :P

Ha ha - You got it mate.

Amy didnt give me daggers once!  Luckily the new arrival is a quiet one.

It was genuinely exciting following you on the forum Rich - well played and Ill check the trophy out on Wednesday.   Q - Should I bother to play or just write you a cheque for £10 now.   English champion and all.  Your Hendon Mob database entry looks pretty cool ;)
