Cheers for the support guys re above comments, will try and keep this going, a bit of poker content, the game on Tuesday, made the final table, that"s 3/3 since my return, alas only 6 paid, finished 9th, called a 10 bb shove, with 55, didn"t win the flip v A8 , 88 had folded before me, Lolz.

Someone missed a treble up for being so bad, well played sir, the rest went with 66 v KK, if you are going to get knocked out may as well be against quads.

Hardly played online, apart from the big $55, where I thought I made a straight with J 10, but hadn"t, I thought I needed a Queen to give me a straight but a 2cd King on the turn was not the Queen I was looking for, anyway I jammed all in and was called by 66 and AK, flop being A K 6, turn K (not a Queen), should of gone to specsavers.

Min cashed for $100 or so but could of been a bit more if not for that mishap, moral don"t play when tired, restart the grind on Monday.

Had a good night tonight, no poker, curry and beer ftw, planning started early for forthcoming trip to Dusseldorf, museums and cathedrals on the list. Turned out to be a freebie, my cousin had a decent win this week on the dogs paid for the lot, happy days.

As Vegas didn"t want my money decided to invest in a new Tv today, treat ourselves to a new Sony 4k jobbie, slightly extravagant but hell it"s  poker winnings, so as far as I am concerned winnings are for treats, sod the bills.

I was going to set it up tonight but in my current state that would be a -ve ev move, the current TV is currently spinning around the room.

Been a decent month so far and probably best month of the year, but we still await that elusive big un, might buy a lottery ticket today for the first time in 2 years, beginners luck hopefully, run good, be lucky stay healthy, hic.

Played twice online since Vegas, accounting to nothing, motivation very low for online stuff.

Live stuff playing the usual Tuesday and Friday games with the Sunday game as well, all in all 5 games since my return, made the final table each time. Sundays game seen me lose a flip for a  20bb stack so basically doubled my money, yawn, finished 9th or 10th.

At the G they play hand for hand for points for the league, whilst trying to abuse this I lost a load of chips before the ft, not interested in the points as I have not played enough over there to accumulate any points so went for the win, didn"t happen move on.

£820 overlay at Rainbow tonight with only 24 runners, there is no way this game will continue after the league finishes in a few weeks, there is not enough runners on a Tuesday for 2 games with a £2k gtee, will still play though, velly value at the minute.

With only 24 runners only 4 were paid, we got to 6 handed and I ran AK into the chip leaders AA, (22 bigs), no help and I was gone, ran pretty bad on final tables this year, but still getting there is better than not. One day Rodney, seem to say that all the time.

Think I am in profit by about £100, which again is frustrating as there has been some decent prizes on offer, unfortunately I have not been the recipient.

Feeling pretty low post Vegas tbh, back into the normal life grind.

Blood Brothers tonight at Darlington, guaranteed to be in tears at the end, only seen the thing 5x gets me every time, (It"s Susans favourite show, and we will pop to see it if it"s local).

Hand of the night, I was not involved, flop was 5c 7c 9c, 3 players all in on the flop,

6c 8c, for the flopped straight flush, Kc Qc for the second nut flush, and 10c 10h, rigged I tell ya, sponsored by pokerstars.

Have to watch some Final table videos entitled " how to run good at a final table", because at the moment I can"t seem to get it done.

Friday night at Rainbow and my 6th final table in succession locally, i actually got a semi decent return £400 for my £40 investment.

Cliffs, 3rd hand in 3 bet QQ, v an utg raiser, got 4 bet, this screams strength, very few people here 4 bet without AA or KK,  I set mined with the Queens and folded to a C bet on a 10 high flop, went with my read and he showed AA, have been known to sigh call it off and re enter but went with my gut.

Lost the minimum after 3 betting KJ v a set of deuces, old guy bet really small turn and river and although I paid him off, it was with minimal damage.

Got lucky when I shoved 10 bigs J9 into AJ, turned a flush, guy kicked off a little bit, he had already forgotten about his set of nines v AA aipf, variance innit.

Hand of the night old lady limps 67, button jams AJ, I re jam AhKh, lady calls, flop 3h 4h 5c, oops heart on the turn, bink, over 100k and cruising.

Ran like my usual self on the final table JJ < A9, AK < A 10, blinds got to 4k 8k and a deal was proposed, 2 bigger stacks got £450 and other 3 £400 which was 3rd place cash, all regs so happy to go with it, was strange as there was few new faces at the final table but they all went out before the deal was done.

Next week there is a £10 rebuy charity comp on and with about 105 people already pre registered it promises to be a massive prize pool, a lot of the bigger players have already indicated that they are willing to spend a lot, tbh rebuys are not my forte but will throw something at it, but if I don"t get lucky may just pop to the G as there may be an overlay in their evening comp.

Also the home game returns on Thursday for a Christmas Special, hope it"s not raining.

Have fun in Manchester if you are there, it"s the Riverside for me tomorrow, up the Boro, run good, be lucky stay healthy.

Doing the taxi run early morning to Newcastle Airport, parents spending the inheritance, decided to play the 15/15 at the G, mainly so as to not sleep in, tried to keep there as long as possible so I could just pick them up and get home ASAP to grab some kip.

Handily for me it also included a £300 profit on the night as we did a chop 4 handed, was happy to play on tbh, not because I was stacked up, it was fairly shallow as is the norm but picking the parents up at 2:45am and we chopped it at 2:15am.

So that"s 7/7 final tables locally since Vegas, tbh final tabling 2/3 table sngs ain"t that great an achievement but all these little wins add up. A lot of value at the minute as there are overlays at both casinos with Christmas coming and people not turning out.

It was going to be an expensive week with at least 4 games on including tonight"s if I played the lot, so I am freerolling them, may play the online leg of the big game on Dtd on Wednesday if I am in the mood.

Running as bad online as I am running good live, ying and yang and all that, still haven"t got back into the swing online and it"s just the odd game on the I pad.

No hand details tonight can"t remember how I got chips tbh, just made the right moves at the right time and variance being on my side.

If your still here thanks for reading, run good, be lucky stay healthy.

To keep this thing in balance, I couldn"t continue my run of final tables.

On Tuesday at Rainbow, actually bubbled the final table, annoying last hand blind on blind Jacks v Kings, I was behind and didn"t bink.

Only 5 were being paid so no biggie, looking back I had about 28 bigs when I got this hand as opposed to villains 25 bigs, it was aipf after I had 3 bet his initial raise.

When he 4 bet jammed it was probably wiser to flat initially, as said before in an earlier post not many people are 4 betting in this spot without the goods.

This was a different stage of the game though,  the majority of the time it gets through, alas this time he had the goods, although he did sigh thinking I had the Aces before he flipped his Kings, image still good down there although it has been getting a bit tarnished of late.

The home game made a return on Thursday, 3 of us chopped it for £40 each with Stuart being declared the winner with the winning hand in an a Irish flip for the extra tenner, I don"t know who chooses the music but my head was spinning with the noise, pretty sure it was a playlist at Guantanimo bay during interrogations.

Off to play the return of the £10 rebuy tonight, not my idea of poker heaven but it"s for charity mate, will keep an eye on numbers at the G for their £3k gtee, and depending upon my chip stack and spend, may sneak over there to take advantage of a potential overlay which seems to be the norm at the minute, expecting guarentees to be reduced soon as most games giving overlays.

I intend to try to sat into Gps at Sheffield or try and win some on Stars to buy in, if not there is a 25/25 at Huddersfield next week which I may partake in, run good, be lucky stay healthy.

The £10 rebuy didn"t go well, was in for £80 which is only £20 more than my normal spend on a Friday, managed to last till about 1am, where I lost a flip J7 v 44, I was going ok until K8 got there versus my Jacks, think it raised about £3k for charity, and the first prize was £3k5, rebuys don"t really suit my game but as a one off was ok to indulge, hit a set of twos and had QQ aipf v AQ and AQ, to give myself a playable stack after the rebuy period, alas it wasn"t to be.

Tonights effort included a re entry after I couldn"t fold KK to a flopped set even though my senses told me to fold the river shove, took the add on then ran 99 into AA, didn"t want to leave as there was going to be at least £500 overlay so I re bought the full 18k and started again.

Fast forward 3 hours and we reach the final table, I am short stacked with 15 bigs but get a double when my AJ holds v QJ aipf.

I win another flip with 77 v AQ and am now comfortable, players are dropping and the chip leader (not me) is knocking all out, combination of good hands and flopping the world, bubble paid for 6th.

We get to 3 handed and chip leader by a long way offers to take first place and me and another get 2cd place cash, we agree to play on, eventually we do a deal were chip leader gets £560 and I get £470 and the other guy gets £470, so get an extra £250 for not accepting the first offer, average stack was 24 bigs and chip leader only had  35ish so was only a flip away from swapping positions.

Online had a few cashes in the big $55 meaning I am treading water on Stars, also played a sat for the Gps last night finishing 10th, 6 seats and £570 for 7th, QQ
I may have one more go for a seat or if not may pop down for the £20k guaranteed £150 buy in event on Thursday evening, these times would be better for me as if I make Day 2 it starts on Sat night at 7pm, plus Day 1 is a 7pm start, I can do Sheffield in a day without the need for overnight accommodation.

Don"t feel one bit Christmassy, without kids in the family its a non event tbh but I suppose I had better make an effort and may venture into the loft for the tree later today, bah humbug.

Sheffield side event report managed to get there 5mins before the start and am dealt KK first hand, raise to to 500 (100/200/25), no callers, at least I didn"t have Aces v Kings first hand.

3 bet 99 v 2 early position limps, hit a set and got a bit of value and was up to 57k, next hand get 99 again, oops there is another 9 on the flop, more value and am up to 68k, 3 hands later 3 bet 99 v an utg limp, this is becoming repetitive, get 4 bet from the button, then utg limper 5 bets, easy fold now could set mine but with button still to act looked like a cooler was in the offing in the end a 6 high flush cracked the Aces of the utg player, button had 4 bet 36 clubs.

Didn"t win a hand in the next 2 levels and was back to 40k, all my 3 bets were called was ahead pre but didn"t hit or was out flopped, nature of the beast.

Levels 6 and 7 sees me get back to 60k, then the wheels came off, A8 loses to K8 for a chunk, K8x flop, then JJ loses to Qx on a Q high flop, was always my intention to go back with at least 40 plus bigs didn"t want to come back for a 20 bb flip, jammed 88 for 18 bigs v raise and a limp, unfortunately for me limper had KK, no draws on flop and couldn"t bink my 8, perhaps slightly spewy but was slightly tilted by the loss with the Jacks, villain had just about hit everything he played and at least 3 x I had been a 70/30 favourite against him and each time he had hit his 3 outer, he was always kind enough to show.

Enjoyed the game though so that"s half the battle, in Vegas after a loss you can always take solace in certain establishments to help you wind down, in Sheffield it was a Kebab, feel like crap this morning, this time next year Rodney.

Tree still not up, no cards bought or written really can"t be bothered.

Top of the table clash tomorrow, it"s on the TV but going to buy a ticket, Come on Boro.

That tide turned when we beat Norwich 4 0, the curse has been lifted and my mates now allow me back in, might even buy a half season ticket, pondering that one, hope you are well.

Ok,  last post of the year, just looked back at last years goals and pretty much performed as expected. In profit on Stars but still pretty much a break even, small winning player.

Made enough to freeroll Vegas, plus had a winning week there and looking through the app I use for tracking live results not had a losing month, not enough to live on but enough for treats and supplementing our income.

Total turnaround in the local games as the rainbow is now the preferred option, just hope they keep their guarantees going.

Played twice this week, thurs at the G, made the final table with average blinds 12, but made a bad reshove with A6 v 10 10 and didn"t get there, was a tired shove, just wanted to hurry the game up and get a double for a chance of winning.

Tonight at Rainbow final tabled again only for QQ to lose to JJ aipf for a chance of winning 7 paid finished 9th, can"t really complain as I Binked a 4 when I was behind with 44  v 10 10, and hit a Jack v KK when I had Jacks to get to the final table, both spots standard, even if the results weren"t, karma I suppose, still dissapointing, not getting the run of green on final tables.

Still in profit for the month, it"s not a lot but not complaining.

Online can"t win a hand for some reason, game seems to have hit a brick wall, constantly running into big hands and generally spewing chips in spots I know I shouldn"t be involved in.

Had 2 opportunities for big wins in the 25/25 and GPS £400 this year, both turned into min cashes when AA loses to AQ in the 25/25 on the final table and finishing 20th in the GPS when AK lost to A10 for a 40bb pot, hey ho its poker, hope to play a few more biggies next year as I have seen a house I would be interested in buying, just a 100k bink will do as well as selling the house we are in now should cover it, probably a pipe dream but you never know.

Finally, hope everyone has a good Christmas and a happy new year and whatever you wish for comes to fruition. Run good, be lucky stay healthy and Up the Boro.
