Not a lot happening after last weeks efforts, played Friday, finished 13th I think, jammed 99 (15 bigs) into JJ in the big blind, annoying as I had to fold JJ earlier to same guys 4 bet, as usual took the line no one here 4 bets without the nuts, (especially villain), he had the Aces.

Had a break even Sunday online, not a massive outlay in tournaments but was only down $5 after playing 6/7 games.

Games just seem to be who gets AK the most and whether it stands v a pair, so many 80/100 big blind shoves going on early doors.

Concert on Tuesday was excellent, really enjoyed it pretty much perfect vocals for a live performance, First Aid Kit, name of the duo, worth checking out if you get a chance to see them, plenty of stuff on vevo/YouTube.

Had one eye on the phone though keeping an eye on the score at the Riverside, boom a 2-1 victory to top the night off.

Birthday came and went midweek, but my son had arranged a family meet up for a decent meal at the weekend which was pleasant.

Found a stream for the Boro  v City game on Saturday and was so glad I did, pretty much a perfect performance from Boro I thought.

City had plenty of the ball, I never felt we were in trouble and was pretty confident we could nick it which we did, promotion remains the priority but would be good if we could win the cup and get promoted, banish the demons of losing 2 finals and getting relegated a few years ago.

This is our best chance of promotion for a few years, but it"s going to be close.

With a week to go till the end of the month, it will have been a profitable one live and a small losing one online although only played around 20/30 games.

I had a look at flights for Vegas for around June (this months profit would pay for it) and nearly booked but decided against it, usual home stuff concerns, if I don"t go in November, then will definitely do summer 2016.

Thanks for reading.

January finished with a whimper, pretty annoying as having such a good start, still ended the month in profit so can"t complain really.

Friday"s game at Rainbow was a total grind, literally nothing playable all night and was inevitable my Aces got cracked for a treble up with 13 left latish on, was AA v AK v 55, the 5 spiking.

Horrible month online, always having second best hands, villains getting there constantly with draws etc but it is what it is.

I don"t normally play the Sunday Million but decide last night to have a bash, I won a sng and had a 2cd, so added the extra $100 to play it, yes I know Bankroll management is crap but whatever.

Had the perfect start a treble up in the first level, 10 10 v AK v KJ, on a KK 10 flop and was chip leader for a while.

Then got it in with 77 v 99 v 56 on 472 flop ran out 89, so I came third in the hand, would of been up to 65k in the first level, wasn"t to be.

Peaked at around 75k, finishing around 770th for $375, missed a spot with AJ late on for a treble up and to get back on the game, then went out with AJ v KQ, the King spiking the river, Grrrr. A small loss online for January but at least a cash for the start of February, back to initial starting roll on Stars.

Profit last month will allow me play the 25/25 at Newcastle this weekend, would of preferred to play Coventry but the usual home stuff means it makes more sense to play an hour from home rather than 3, Gl to all at Coventry, got a bit of interest with a bit of cash invested in someone.

The Boro continue the grind towards the Premiership with a decent win on Saturday, not the greatest performance in the world but a big 3 points. Home game v Charlton on Saturday, will probably get a ticket but will see how the Friday night at Newcastle goes first, run good, be lucky stay healthy.

Made Day 2 of 25/25 Newcastle, will be returning with 83k (40 bigs).

Cliffs spun down 25k to 10k, then got busy, A8>A7, back to starting stack, AK > A10, to double, then 3 or 4 hands won without showdown, then get paid when I had turned the nut flush, guy had turned 2 pair with A2, which he had defended his big blind with from my Utg raise with AK.

Folded a set early incorrectly, but flushes straights bigger sets got there, guy showed two pair, the joys of playing oop, obligatory Aces cracked early but not a lot of damage as it went a bit mental on the turn, lost the minimum, guy hit a set of eights v flush.

Folded pairs correctly pre when behind to overpairs, obviously sets get there, but no sets when I had pairs, typical, all in all a total grind until the last 2 levels were I had a few profitable spots.

Boro match later today, bought a ticket, then get a text from a mate who can"t make it for a freebie, annoying but what can you do, gl to all in Coventry and anyone who is still in the GPS in Brum, run good, be lucky stay healthy.

Weeks rest after last weeks 25/25 finished around 40th, 23 paid,no biggie my last 13 bigs went blind on blind A7 v AK, the villain eventually went on to win, play with him regularly so well done and good luck to him.

Final tabled yesterday"s £100 at G but lost a flip AQ v JJ, I was behind pre, QJx flop, had a diamond draw on the river but didn"t materialise,  loads of sets in this game, unfortunately I wasn"t a recipient of said good fortune.

One guy was really unlucky was on about 140k, gets it in QQ v 88, 8 on river, then runs Kings into Aces all in pre, binks a King, then villain rivers the case Ace, sick game.

Running as badly as I was running well at the beginning of January, but profit is not as high as if I had just stayed in and watched the tele, hey ho its poker.

Not really enjoying the games at the minute so will be taking a break from the local games, save what I would of spent and play the next GPS in Newcastle.

Online is pretty standard building stacks then inevitably losing the big uns which either gives you a shot at winning or min cashing or non cashing.

Off to watch the Boro v Arsenal, would like to see a result either way, no replays, obviously a 1-0 away win will suffice, either way promotion is much more important given that ridiculous TV deal which has just been announced, anyway off to watch the game on a dodgy box for free.

Usual thing run good, be lucky, stay healthy.

A couple of games to report on, last week late regged the game at the G after the Boro game, made the final table but pure bubbled the cash finishing 7th with 6 paid, hey hum no probs.

3 hours in remembered why I stopped going there, annoying to say the least not the poker, but some of the people just irritate me, admittedly I am becoming a bit like Victor Meldrew, need to chill out a bit.

Tonight seen the Rainbow £1500, after 2 weeks of £700 overlays, Tonights was a more manageable £130, so hope it continues.

Last week seen me chop it 50/50 for £500 but went one better last night and won it for £620, no chops, played till the end, actually played heads up, all be it for only a few hands as I had a substantial chip advantage.

The game started with the usual 7 or 8 to a flop, I was usually the one who had folded and how they all laughed at the amount of pots I was playing early doors.

I got a few chips of Mr Loosey Goosey when he jammed my Utg raise, I had KQ, he showed 2 cards indicating I would always fold to the jam, it was for 15 bigs or so but against this villain was an easy call, King high held and he wasn"t too chuffed I had called him with that pile of rubbish, got the rest of his chips when he jammed 64 on a KK9 board, I had 97 after he limped his button to my big blind.

Get to the final table in decent shape and ran pretty pure, no premiums but calling correctly and holding, or calling correctly and getting there.

There was one spot were I thought it all had gone wrong, I had 3 bet 66 on the button v  a limper, flop came QQ2, he checked, I put out a small bet which he called, binked the 6 on the turn,it eventually goes all in on the river, I turn over my full house, and he slowly turned a Q and a 3, it looked like a 2 because he turned it so slowly, we held and took a massive pot.

Took the next 2 players out with Q9 >AJ and A7 > A6, had the game pretty much locked up unless I got really unlucky, no one had asked for a deal, the remaining 2 eventually went to war, and we went heads up with a decent lead, again villain didn"t ask for any sort of deal, I probably had a 4 to 1 chip lead, after a few hands, I raise K5, he jams KJ, for 5 bigs, I call and bink the 5 and it holds, wii £620 for the win which is good timing for the trip to Germany at the weekend, it"s actually costing me more for Susan to stay in a care home for the 4 days than the trip itself, but can"t leave her by herself for 4 days.

Riverside tonight for the Millwall game, we are officially having a blip, going to be squeaky bum time for the next 12 or so matches, not convinced with our stuttering form but it"s still in our hands, win all the games we are up, easy.

As said above Germany on Thursday for a jolly boys outing, beer, sausages and football, das is gud, ya.

Usual, run good, be lucky stay healthy, Up the Boro.

Couldn"t make it 4/4 cashes on Monday at Rainbow, they dropped the guarantee without announcing it to £1k, bit naughty but understand the £1k5 was unsustainable.

I can"t complain though, took enough of the value in this game in the last few months.

Monday"s game seen me finish 6th with only 3 being paid, pretty much shove/ fold poker at this stage seen me Jam AQ over 2 limpers only for big blind to wake up with AK, he was still moaning announcing he didn"t like flips, had a flush draw on the flop but couldn"t get there.

Decided to late reg the G on Tuesday, and after cashing at 2pm if I had stayed at home I would of still had the same amount of money in my pocket, bubble saver lol, didn"t ask for it but the other 2 short stacks got their wish, small overlay so it was casinos cash.

No roll online anywhere at the minute if I fancy a game will deposit and play, put £18 onto Full Tilt last night and managed to final table the Triceratops, alas finished 8th for $270, lost a big chunk before the final table when I hit 2 pair v a set, annoying but it is what it is.

Just dropped Bradford 25/25 into the conversation with Susan, quickly left the room for a shower, perhaps some chocolate may be making an appearance later as well, may or may not play it, would take money of Full Tilt, and it"s effectively a £50 comp.

Been watching a lot of Twitch poker and a young pro called Jamie Staples who plays in his parents Basement and has just come of a $10k downswing, with a win in the big 109, great work ethic, just shows how hard it is to work as a poker pro, he treats it as a job and deserves all he gets, never tilts and just accepts it for what it is.

On the other hand Bigdogpckt5s who is a trainer on Tpe although a great player and massive winner he does tilt pretty badly is also a good watch, had Susan watching him with me the other night and she said he just sounds like you when you are losing, if a player who"s $5 million up in lifetime earnings moans and has a little blow up, it is ok for a small winning/ breakeven player to do the same although it is quite pathetic really.

The football still keeps us on the edge of our seats, great win on Tuesday, massive game on Saturday, would of been happy with 6 from 9 from these last 3 games but a point would be ok v Bournmouth, a defeat wouldn"t be the end of the world but would take a draw now.

Right, off to drum more subliminal messages into Susan"s head re Bradford, and by 4pm she should be asking me what time I am going which if I do will be about 5:30, it has 3 Day 1 s, so plenty of time to get into her head, thanks for reading, run good, be lucky, stay healthy.

Ok, Plan A worked a treat, as soon as i got to front room she asked what time I would be leaving and an agreement was made in principle.

We went out for some food and drink and was off to Bradford by 5:15.

Put postcode in Sat nav and meandered down there for a 7pm start, estimated arrival time 7:10, however I put the wrong feckin postcode in sat nav and was directed to Grosvenor Supplies which I arrived at by foot the last bit of the way, doh !!.

Reset the sat nav and I am 25 minutes away, what a dolt, get there eventually for the last 10 mins of 75/150, buy in sit down and go to sleep.

Very passive table loads of limping, I tried a couple of 3 bets but just led to bloated pots with 6 to a flop, just decided to wait till the antes came in to start to get really busy.

Got to 32k when I 3 bet KJ on button and getting paid after hitting 2 pair on the flop, then back to 20k after 10 10 lost to AQ, I had raised sb flatted AQ, I c bet the 9 high flop which he called, I double barrelled the Q turn, again he only called, then check check on the river, lost the minimum, would of paid a small bet off but he let me off the hook.

Made some hands in limped pots when in the blinds and got paid off and was around 60k going into the last 2 levels, chipped up nicely with raises and c bets.

The most significant hand of the night, raise utg to 4k5, flatted bt utg2, I wake up with Queens in the big blind, I raise to 11k, utg folds then utg just piles a load of chips in and is around 50k in total, hoped he didn"t play Aces and Kings this way.

I thought he was all in and called, my bad, he had chips behind, we both only had about 10k left so we were both never folding the flop which was 8 9 10 rainbow, I push, he calls showing 77, the turn and river bricked and the Queens held, this got me up to 130k, lost around 6k in the last 20 mins, raising 44 blind v blind, he defends with 10 6, hits his 6, I had 5th pair by the river maybe a c bet might of got him off it but not a biggie, bagged up 127,400, Day 2 Sunday 12pm, didn"t see Aces or Kings, got a walk with AK, perhaps we will see them on Sunday, still a long way to go but makes a change not going into Day 2 requiring a flip early doors.
