Two. --  I check my option in the BB with Q6 and we see a flop of Q3Q. It"s checked to Peter Evans who bets out for 600 which the SB and I both call.
The turn is a 6  - thank you lord and this gets checked round
River is a 10 and SB bets out, and calls my chunky raise with the other Q

When I cleared Dad"s house after his move to London I found a box that had been my Mother"s and which held a couple of packs of cards. It looked rather neat and I decided it was too good to go to the charity shop.
It was only a little after I got it home that I noticed the decoration on the lid...

here it is, in all it"s glory..

Big smile  ;D The Teesside nuts comes good once again!

Keep going Dave.. enjoy and much love to you both, hope Lucy"s having a ball as well x

Hmmm the Teesside Nuts let me down in the last level. I raised BvB with  Qc 6c and call a smallish 3bet. Flop is  6d 5c  3h (disclaimer.. Flop cards may not be precisely right, but there was definitely a six and a club)
I Cbet and BB shoves. He started the hand with around 12k and I decide to call off v his last 8k ish putting AK/AQ firmly in his hand rather than the overpaid. He had JJ and I got no miracle two pair/trips help.
It was an awful piece of play by me and my only defence is that I had some history with him and being wrong would only dent me.

Lucy bust the $300 in eight which was short of the money. Lost a chunk when A6Flopped a straight :)
but still short she shoved J9s over three limpers and got called by A8.
She did good but the force wasn"t with her.

Luck plays it"s part in tournaments in so many ways. Having a hand when someone else has one that is close enough to call; having your opponents have no hand when you make a move; hitting the one-outer; getting a decent seat draw.
I feel like I"ve definitely been lucky in my seat draw in each day. Not being disrespectful to Devilfish, nor to Pete Evans, but I"ve played against Pete a couple of times now and had the benefit of watching the FT video from the GP and Devilfish was nowhere near as scary or aggressive as I had anticipated. Check called him on turn and river holding   Ac 7c on a  Qh 10d  4h 7d Jh he announced that I must be good if I was calling but was less than impressed by what I called with. "Stick around, I"ll have all your chips" ...

Picked up another chunk on the first hand on my table move, calling a raise again with A7 suited, diamonds this time and hitting an Axx dd flop I called a bet on the flop, allowed the turn to be checked round and led out 12000 on the diamond river. My opponent cursed his luck in Greek I think it was, but lucky definitely seemed the issue. I queried what had been said but apparently " if the diamond doesn"t come" I lose. Frankly, if the diamond doesn"t come I may lose, but I don"t lose the last 12000...
That last table of the night had two potential trouble spots in Peter Haslam and Stuart Kinghorn but we managed to avoid tangling with each other and just all focussed on the easier spots. Like Mario, a friend of the billionaire owner of the Marriott Hotel & Resprt St Kitts. Mario had a very wide calling range and an even wider shoving range it seems.
Bagged up 131 after losing a flip late on when KQhh<99. I raised 3.5k at 800/1600/200, he shoves for 24700 total. Anyone folding? Thought not.

Not too disappointed by today"s draw either. JP is obviously a threat as is Jules, but avoiding Rob for now, and some of the other big stacks feels like it"s a pretty good result.

Whatever happens tonight this place is so good and the experience so massive that I feel I"ve won already. Anything else is a bonus.

Once again,  big shout out to Rob and the team. They have made this trip extra special.

By the way - we organised food so much better yesterday and I enjoyed a Shrimp Cocktail followed by surf n turf with one of the best bits of steak I have ever eaten, and a lobster tail.
Followed that with a coffee ice cream and got back to the table with 3 minutes to spare :)

Marvellous tournament in a marvellous setting.
I played badly for a spell today but had recovered my mojo after two quick double ups. A9 all in pre over a JP raise held vs A8 hitting a 9 on the flop but ever a sweat with JP picking up an OESD on the turn
Then I raise BvB with  Jc Jd and shove on a 4 2 2 cc flop. He snaps having called pre with 23 off
Turn and river are clubs to save me.
Exit hand..2500/500/500. I raise  Ahrt Ad to 21k in mp with one limper, one caller to JP who makes it 52k
I shove for around 190 total, caller folds, JP calls from around 300 I think.
Q on the turn.

mbn

I don"t wish to sound bitter, and I know variance sucks and all, but I was surprised to see QQ when he called. I was pleased too...

In a sense I was on borrowed time after the JJ hand but this year I"ve exited four big tournaments on either a "bad beat" or a cooler. UKIPT runner runner to counterfeit my flopped 2pair. May DTD Deepstack tens

Then JP finds AA and knocks out the remaining APAT guy.

JP Kelly knocks Llyr (Owen) Jones out. JP"s AA beat Jones" KK.

Strange game poker, the hand with Devilfish if he calls you with 4th pair, he is a genius, you call correctly you are classed as a calling station or an easy mark which you are obviously not, some people have no class.
No need for a comment on the last hand,wp again another fantastic effort.
