I was in a rage - let me have my moment and don"t take it as a personal attack. I"m more angry at WillHill then anyone else, but at the same time if half the field get disconnected and theres only 21 players and 6th is a cash - you could be the worst player ever and you would still have a pretty good chance of cashing if you have been allowed to play on! Perhaps I should have used the term "fluky whatnot" or "the less good player".

Theres a few donks in APAT though lets be honest, I wouldn"t want any of the genuinelly good players thinking I was saying it was about them, but I am not the enemy here, I"m just the most vocal participant! You cannot deny that despite everyone passing the parcel on whose fault it is, a player or two have basically been free-rolled into Cardiff have they not?

I won a seat and yet was also disconnected for around 40mins.  Please be aware that most, if not all, players experienced some difficulty in this tourney, and I can definatly confirm I did not FREEROLL my way to the seat!

I"ve just checked my account and it seams that the "SEAT" I won, is just actually the buy-in added to my account!  This is my first experience of APAT and it seems bad that if I had RIGHTLY assumed that by winning a seat I was already entered, I could have, and still might, miss playing the tourney if I don"t enter in time this evening!  Is this bad organisation on the part of APAT or yet another shambolic display by WH?

In satellites I"ve seen or played on other sites, any qualifiers are automatically entered and listed in the target tournament lobby. This is regardless of whether or not general registration is open.

I think the people who won a seat for this via the satellites were initially entered, as I saw about 9 names listed in the lobby at 1am this morning. I guess that as the general reg should not have been open until 8pm tonight, they"ve removed everyone from the list instead of just the direct buy-in people (me being one).

IMHO, they should have left the qualifiers in the lobby and removed the direct buy-in people. They should then have  emailed anyone who was removed from the list, with an apology and reminding them to re-register at 8pm.

WH have not been really on the ball with this but NONE of this is the fault of APAT.

In the past (with other providers) seat winners HAVE been added automagically entered into holding tanks but, on this occasion, they do appear to have dropped the ball.

The previous lobby referred to was the "actual" lobby that was opened up incorrectly and some people jumped the gun.

I am certain that Des is "having words".

Unless Des confirms otherwise, all satellite winners should check the holding tank when it opens tonight

If, as appears to be the case, you have had satellite winning sadded to your account you will need to buy in with those proceeds

Not ideal, but as you can tell we are dealing with some William Hill issues here

I had a "chat" with one of WH"s online chat people just now and explained that I wanted a refund for last night"s £5.50 rebuy + (lack of add-on) fiasco. Her reply was "sorry about that, but please understand that we do not issue a refund for any game."

I"ve just fired off an email to WH (not expecting much joy to be honest) to see what, if anything they have to say.

I had a similar situation a few years ago in a $100 rebuy on Stars, they refunded me $300 no questions asked. Let"s see how WH compare with my £5.50 claim.

PS Thanks to Paulie_D for tidying up my previous post. :)

NP...I hesitate to edit posts these days but I thought it would clarify a somewhat heated point.

Good luck with your refund.

Blatant, scurrilous and unabashed use of a post for pure, unadulterated, bragging purposes.  ;D

Fair enough in my humble opinion, have a great time Ian...  8)

Dealing with online poker sites is very much like banging your head up against a brick wall.  Sometimes they listen and take action, but a lot of the times it falls on deaf ears.

With this particular round of tournaments, let"s just remember that this is a "rinse n repeat" of the satellite and buyin process for the Coventry event, which was handled by William Hill.

APAT has not thrown anything new at them, just same again please.  Mistakes happen, even on the best of sites, but it"s how the site choose to deal with these in the aftermath that tells you all you need to know about them.

The biggest frustration is that William Hill happily take their reg fee whilst not providing the expected level of service.  In normal circumstances, you would choose not to play there, but that then means not supporting APAT and allowing you to play the APAT tournaments.

Not a very nice position for people to be in, but I"m sure Des is just polishing the bat he"s been using on the Web Hosting company over the last few weeks and will soon be knocking on the door of WH HQ.

I don"t play on William Hill and never will.  Not because of any problems, but because I refuse to open up anymore poker accounts (Although may have to make an exception if Duffy"s Room ever goes live).

C"est la vie

Can anyone clarify for me please what the deal is with the APAT Live standings at the end of the season. Is there an added prize list?

Agreed. They managed to screw up the satellites and the holding tank last time, and they have not learnt any lessons from the process and screwed it all up again. I no longer play on WH.
Also, the two of us can"t buy in to Cardiff using WH, because it won"t let people from the same IP sign up to the holding tank so I am left with regging myself and praying that I can pick a seat up for Deb via the seat transfer later.
All in all a sad state of affairs.

APAT will operate National Amateur Rankings and National Online Rankings in Season Six, with a maximum of eighteen ranking points available to the winners of Main Events and a maximum of nine ranking points available to the winners of WCOAP, ECOAP and Online side events.  A seat at a professional level event will be awarded to the winners of both Ranking titles.
