Dead Button on Stars?
« on: June 06, 2012, 14:38:57 PM »
Anyone else noticed this?

Stars doesnt seem to be implementing the dead button rule in mtt"s and sng"s anymore and just wondering if it was a software glitch or if they changed their ruling.

Basically if sb, bb or button busts I was always under the impression that their would be one bb only in the following hand and that no player would ever miss their bb........on a few occassions in the last few days their has been a bust and the button has jumped to the next live player.......not complaining as on 2 occassions I missed the bb :D just little confused  ??? as to why this has started to happen.

It has been like this for as long as I can remember. People quite commonly miss the BB when someonenia eliminated from an MTT
Looking forward to making my first day 2

Without seeing it in action, I think this is likely to be a misperception on your part.

The button busting would not affect the next BB.

If the SB busts out, that wouldn"t affect things either. He wasn"t going to post anything on the next hand so play would continue as before.

If the BB busts then the next in line would post the BB only as you can"t be required to post the SB twice.

So, basically, the only time you see a BB only is when the previous BB has busted out of the comp. The player who was previously UTG posts the BB and the previous SB become the button.

Nope, not on Stars. If the SB busts, normally the button would be placed where the SB was just sat, and the player who was BB in the bustout hand would now be SB...... but on Stars, you"ll find that the button will move round to the next live player, and the blinds will be shunted round accordingly, thus it is possible for people to miss their SB or their BB, or both.

Happens in MTTs and STTs.

Fair enough, if that"s what happens, so be it. Still wrong though.  ;D

^^^ this is what I was trying to explain!!.......sure it seems to only have happened since the last software update though as I can clearly remember times seeing button in dead seat......why they need to change and break with normal poker conventions?......had it work against me earlier when button jumped like 2 seats and instead of being bb in 3 hands time I was next >:(
