Denmark v Portugal 5pm (ITV1 4:30pm)

Try as I might, I just can"t see the Danes reproducing their spectacular success over Holland when they take on Portugal today.  Portugal; no doubt disappointed with their defeat to the Germans, will have taken heart from the Dutch defeat, with second place qualification in mind.  I"m pursuing some long odds here, but am backing the Danes to lead at half time, but lose in 90 minutes.  We are getting 25.0 on that outcome, so a successful £5 bet will return £125.

Netherlands v Germany 7:45pm (BBC1 7:30pm)

This one is too hard to call.  Arguably the Germans are slightly stronger but the Dutch NEED a result of some sort. The Germans will strongly fancy their chances with a final fixture against Denmark, so with that strange dynamic in mind, I"m backing the scoreless draw at 7.0.  If successful, our £5 will return £35.

We were close to bagging a nice combi yesterday and if either of the above comes in, we"ll return a nice profit on the day.

Another 7 bite the dust today, leaving just two going into the third day of games.

Mr Duffy might be starting to get a bit anxious if tomorrows results go DRAW then HOME, but both have England to win the last game, so he"s likely to be saved from having to dig into his pockets.   ;)

So pleased that I laughed so much at Deb"s (blowfly) selection of POL v RUS to be a draw that she changed her selection to a RUS win. I"m half way into the maison du chien :(

Just had a game on the DS with my mate, Spain vs. Ireland, Spain won 3-0 so that's my bet for tonight

There"s no way to hide it, but we"re getting rightly twonked on a daily basis through the dabble.  Over the past couple of days I"ve focussed on combi and higher risk bets, but at low stakes.  Today we"re going to focus on one slightly larger, short odds, bet.

Italy v Croatia 5pm (BBC1 4:30pm)

This is a difficult game to call given our reduced budget, so I"m avoiding the fixture. 

Spain v Rep of Ireland 7:45pm (ITV1 7:15pm)

A bet on this game will require my head to rule my heart.  Of course I want the Irish to win, but although the Irish will tell you the boys in green can win, few of us really think its possible.  I"ll make this short and sweet, today"s dabble is on Spain to win, while denying Ireland a goal.  A successful £20 stake at 1.6 will return £32.  Is this win-win or lose-lose?  Time will tell, game on!

Lol. Sounds like the year I convinced Caroline to screw up the betting slip she"d just written Silver Birch on as it had "no chance of winning". Oh how she laughed when it popped over the last (with me praying for it to fall) and romped over the line...

So, both karen and rustynail make it through day 3.  With different predictions for the last 2 games though, only one of them could win a free APAT National seat.
