Many congratulation to Scotland for their outstanding performance on winning the PokerStars.com National Online League, and to every region and player who participated, for supporting the League over the past 15 weeks. I hope you"ve had as much of a blast playing in the League as we"ve had organising it for you.
Details of the next National Online League will be announced in the next two or three weeks, in the interim, we"re busy planning a National Online Cup knockout competition.
The event will run as a team event with each region able to enter as many 4 person teams as you wish. Players can name their team whatever they want, as long as it"s connected with their original region, so you might have the Scottish Bravehearts, Scottish Ladies, East Scotland, etc etc.
We"ll get a more detailed information thread up on the forum during next week, but in the interim players can pool their friends together to form teams of four, or start advertising on the forum for others to join them in teams of four ahead of the National Online Cup.
The format will run as per the League. If we have 60 teams start the league, then the leading 32 teams after the first round will go through to the second round. The leading 16 teams will go forward and then the leading 8 will go to the quarter finals etc.
So whatever chance you felt you had in the National Online League, any team from any region can win the National Online Cup. The event will be very competitive, so I"d like to see a lot of players step forward and organise teams for this unique tournament.
Look out for full details later in the week.
