;D thankfully no  ;D

Date went well.. despite having to get translators involved as shes a real geordie lass., and I thought my accent was "northern".. Slightly worrying that her ex boyfriend works in "close protection" (bodyguard apparently as I didnt have a clue what that was.. my guess at some kind of deodorant seller was a little off) down in London. Fully expecting my house now to be fully under surveillance.. he"s going to get a shock though when he discovers that most days I work just in my pants  :D

Managed to catch the end of the ryder cup highlights in the early hours. I don"t play golf, have very little interest in it... in fact little is a massive overstatement. But seeing those American faces and the "in the hole" "U..S..AA" etc chants disappear and the passion and joy of the Europeans was a sight to behold. 2012 really has been an incredible year sportswise. Can see the sports personality program this year running at least a week at this rate.

I will be pressing my F5 / refresh / vote again button for my future wife... Victoria Pendleton.. hey.. a man can dream a little  ;)

So we have a few days before the Yarm Invasion.. and I had promised to do a profile on the regulars who play beforehand.. mental note to get this done over the next few days. As to show no favouritism I will do this in alphabetical order as follows.. these are the hardcore.. the original clan. The clan has grown over the years and if I have time will add to this list.. but for starters...

Amos - "pokerpops" David
Amos - "gorgeous" Lucy
Harland - "fossil" Brian
Mcgowan - "fiddy" David
Motson - "luckbox" Gary
Palmer - "bigballs" Gary
Ward - "the rock" Matthew
Ward - "the cock" Stu
Wright -  "its all about the win" Mark

Here"s hoping I don"t offend too much...  :-*

Pervert!  :-* Webcam will be on usual time.. just tell me what you want me to wear this time mate  ;)

OK.. First up on my quick introductions to the massive is

Dave "pokerpops" Amos

It doesnt seem that long ago that Dave was saying he really wanted a Hendon Mob entry, then around a year ago he got his first entry with a small cash at what was to become daves "happy place" to play poker. DTD. Around that time Dave (and Im sure he wont mind me saying this) was the value at our daft home game. In fact I think the rebuy option was introduced so that Dave could play on past the initial hour.. "daves going to gala.. daves going to gala la la la la" was a regular song as it was Dave"s usual plan to play cash there after getting knocked out. Oh how times have changed. Now I"m not exactly sure what has happened but this year Dave"s game has switched into overdrive.

April saw him finish 2nd at the Grand Prix (DTD) for 12 grand euros and of course with his golden chip a 6k+ trip to the Carribbean. As if that wasnt enough he then went and did it again finishing 5th for another 10 grand euros in July at the next Grand Prix. Don"t ask him about DTD and terms and conditions though ;-) Now lets put this into perspective. He finished 2nd out of 2325 and then 5th out of 1872 entries. Amazing achievement and if those results alone dont get him nominated for some APAT award at the end of the year I"ll be amazed.

Even more amazing is that he"s now starting winning the home games as well. Back to back the last two weeks. He has what I would call a "frisky" style. Always has done, but seems to have honed the friskyness into a winning game plan. On top of being basically the Stockton massive player of the year so far he"s a top top fella, loves his music festivals, wears great tshirts, loves his family and plays the home game the right way.. with a smile on his face and enjoys and brings the banter. I love him. There. I said it.

Big shame that Dave"s going to be missing this Thursday. Have a feeling he may make an appearance later though.. the cash game maybe a little juicy with the invasion  ;D

Lucy "gorgeous" Amos

Lucy is what it says on the tin. Gorgeous. Both inside and out. A lover of hugs like me and someone I miss greatly when she"s not there  :-* Lucy has frisky tenancies a little like her pop Dave, but generally has it when the chips go over the line. Tends to get into pots with Dave frequently and generally gets the better of him. Lucy would win lots more games if she could just win those all important flips late on in the game as she hardly ever goes out early. Hoping that she starts playing the larger buyins and APATs soon as she has the game to do very well. Beautiful person, funny, gorgeous and can play poker... does it get any better?

Brian "fossil" Harland

You"ll know Brian from his "fossil" blog on here. Brian is a top bloke who"s game I admire greatly, he smashed the online cup recently individually and as you"ll read from his blog never seems to have a losing month both live and online. His recently fitted kitchen being an indication to his success. On our trip to Vegas we always seemed to awake to news of another Brian cash.. he final tabled the APAT Vegas game and has a game I wish I could replicate. Never seems to get involved in the first couple of levels is happy to fold and fold and fold.. and gets an "ooooooooohhhhhhhhh" every time he enters the pot.

The fossil name is well deserved. Or is it? Brian is canny enough to play on his image and play on it he does. The problem is though.. his VPIP creeps upto 1.1% is this the time he"s stealing your blinds? You raise.. he reraises.. he knows that you know that he knows etc.. haha.. play pots with Brian at your own risk  ;D And definitely dont play if he"s yawned and put some chips over the line haha.. something that was Brians trademark move.

Brian has the game for a big score at a big buy in, recently won a seat into the £500 DTD half a milly game and made day 2 against a tough field, its only time before he wins big. Just hope I"ve managed to grab a percent or two for when he does. Brian"s travelling upto Glasgow for the forthcoming APAT with a few of us. He"ll be the one having a snooze until level 5  ;)

As you only went to bed twice this is a statistically insignificant sample size.

lol.. this is true..  :D ok.. Brian cashed at least twice.. no hang on plus the Vegas APAT I rememeber that.. so 3. Might have been more. OK should just edit Brians to "hes good and cashes and stuff".

OK.. who"s next?.. David "fiddy" Mcgowan

Fiddy is the quiet one of the group, and is the nicest guy you will ever meet. Honestly. Never has a bad word for anyone. Not even Stu. Would bend over backwards and do anything for you. He gets a LOT of grief at the table especially from Stu, normally aimed at the size of his nose. He takes the banter and gives just as good as he gets.

Poker wise don"t let his quiet personality give you the impression he"s a rock. His style got him the name as the Stockton Corpse at APAT Coventry one year due to his quiet persona and rock like tenancies early on.. don"t let this fool you though, he mixes up his game very well playing like a rock with added friskyness randomly thrown in. Especially at our home games.

His "Fiddy" nickname comes from the first time we met.. at a random poker table in a pub somewhere.. as I said he was the quiet one and when he was asked who he was he was at the time making a "50" bet.. "Fiddy?".. and that has stuck ever since. Realised I should post up photos of the clan so you know who"s who.. but Fiddy has this as his facebook photo.. something I did for him a few years back  :D
