Quick update following the WCOAP.. only played the Main 1B and finished 60 somethingth and 30ish from making day 2 and a min cash, picked up hands early and chipped up nicely to around 22k on a great table with Gary from the Hetton Mob, JP, Rodders, Paul Mac etc, good banter and as JP mentioned in his update we kept the waitresses very busy. Moved tables after just doubling up a short stack with a AQ < AK me raising, BB short and shoving and me calling.. standard. New table and card dead and after losing a race ended up shoving around 9 bigs in the BB with 5 3 hearts soooted (fish? me? never) after a raise and a reraise ahead of me. Only one called and I hoped for a AK.. got shown 8"s and with another 8 on the flop and no hearts I was gone. Enjoyed the day though and the deepish run.

More beers flowed and the company of amongst many others Emma, Nellie, Mich, GiMac, Dawn, Jack, Andy O, Suz, Rudders etc made the rest of the night fly by. Railed JP and Carl till the end of the main and we retired to bed around 3am after way too many beers and a round of baby guinesses to finish it all off in the early hours with the usual suspects and many a laugh. Happy days.

Was sad to hear the news from Stu that he"d had to go home as had been looking forward to hammering the bar with him to celebrate the England victory. Always heart warming how much love there is amongst the community with people asking after him all day. Love to you and Matty mate x

Sunday I was down to play heads up and I just wasnt feeling it, had a cooked brecky with JP and decided that I"d de-reg, meet up with the gang and especially Dawn, Jack and Carl and Emma as I"d promised a hug or 4 the night before and head home. Anna stays over on a Monday and I decided that time with her and Lilly was preferred to a sober heads up session. No regrets there at all.

Speaking of Anna.. I have the best daughter in the world  :-*

Im the luckiest man in the world.. thank you all.... even Stuart  ::)  :-*

Just a question.. has anyone ever had truffle in their food.. and not the sweet kind?

Had it for the first time in a top restaurant over the weekend (black truffle risotto) and it literally tasted like crap, yes even worse than beetroot Mr Pilgrim.. Now I"m wondering.. is it my taste buds that"s shot, was it just a bad dish (tempted to buy some off the interweb to see) or does one of the most expensive foods in the world indeed taste like poo?

Very dissapointing  :-\

Black truffles are the cheaper more pungent ones, but they are still expensive! IMHO a decent restaurant should be serving the white ones which are the better of the two versions I know about and have a more delicate flavour. A few shavings per portion in any dish should be plenty. Hope this helps xxx

p.s. Amaretto buiscuit wrappings were an epic fail too, back to the drawing board  :(

Cool video for the old man  ;D

Glad you had an awesome birthday ... disappointed to not be reading about any more broken window running around in purple underwear stories but you"re getting on a bit now and the failing body and moral responsibilities are obv starting to kick in  :P

As for the truffles .... I"ll stick to my heart shaped champagne praline truffle choccies .... I even saved a few for GiMac (how considerate is that, now THAT"s going above and beyond  ;D)

I find this hard to believe!!

But yes Black truffles are indeed a required taste.. due to their pungent smell not a million miles away from smelly socks..

My advice.. Stay away from overly priced expensive ingredients, i hear up your neck of the woods there is a delicacy called Parmo?

Or better still Hobnobs!!

OMFG!!!  It"s obvious I likes me food, so surely I"ve half a clue - hand on heart, Parmo is NOT a delicacy!!!  Most vile food item I"ve ever consumed.  And I"ve consumed so pretty horrid stuff in my life.  Parmo.  Delicacy.  Ugh.
