The man who coaxed both Smyth and Irritation to a Gold medal

Give that man a lollipop for services rendered to the Motherland

There are 30+ tables in use and this person draws seat 8 next to the Updaters desk

Stropping off, I am. Not happy

On the same table is the loquacious Chinese Frankie, a local player who owns a fish and chip shop in Mansfield.

He is never knowingly out-talked

After 5 minutes of the competition he walks up to me and says

"Richard, can you tell her to shut up?"

He wanted to use the moniker Cursmall, but the APAT forum software refused it

First out is Brett Pinder

blind on blind against Steve Roderick

Roderick flopped a flush draw, Pinder flopped two pair

Roderick turned a pair, led, and was called

The flush came on the river, Roderick bet, Pinder shoved and Roderick called

Second out is, cough, ahem, Ger Smyth

He raised with  ad1 Jd

Nuno Andrade called with  9s 9h

flop  9d 9c 4d

Smyth bets, Andrade ponders, tries not to look to conspicuous and calls

turn  5s

Andrade leads for 2,000 Smyth calls

the river a fateful, nasty diamond

Smyth last folded the nut flush in any situationabout forty years ago

This is good news for Andrade, it goes without saying

Andrade leads

Smyth raises

Andrade shoves

Smyth calls, and is now in the bar.
