Cash tables, taking money off the table

I have a pet peeve that is starting to annoy me.

When playing cash live in either a poker room or casino it is not allowed for money to be removed from the table until you leave it, and if you do leave it to move to another table you have to take your whole stack with you.  If you want to rejoin with a smaller stack you have to wait an allotted amount of time.

Why is it that the computer software allows players to take off a huge stack and rejoin the same table immediately with a smaller one.  Tonight for example a player joined the $1/2 nlhe cash table with $40, increased this to $550 mostly from a fish that had gotten lucky earlier against nearly everyone at the table but we were all gradually winning our money back from him until he lost most of it to this player over several hands.  As soon as the fish left the table this player, as I stated, left with the cash but came back immediately with only $40.... 

Interested to hear other"s views on this....

You sure about this one linz? I don"t know anywhere that will allow you to siphon cash off a ring game table. If you leave with $550, and then try to return within a given period (usually one hour) you have to buy back in for $550.

hmmmm I play on Titan which is also iPoker network, amd can confirm that the software does not allow you to leave a cash table then return with less chips within an hour........

My thoughts on this are the same as AMRN. Is this maybe a case of buying in for the Max, running it up to a healthy profit, leaving the table if only for a brief second then only being able to re-buy in for the Maximum ... ?

If this was the case it"s more understandable. Other than that I can"t say I"ve experienced it.

I"m sure I"ve seen this too on Blue square but I"m equally sure it was in the circumstances Neil mentions.

just tried it on BSQ. Ran a max buy in to a level above the max... $1/$2 NL - bought in for $200 and won a hand taking it to $232. Left table and waited five minutes. When tried to rejoin table, it forced me to buy in for $232 (which is above the max)

There is an easy way around this... which allows you to buy in with any ammount. I won"t say how to do it, because I dislike this practice as much as most others and don"t want to teach others how it"s done.

Have no real interest in taking cash off table - much prefer to play with big stack.

That"s good it"s usually me that gets confused.

Perhaps I should have said "allows you to buy in with any amount - less than you just left with".

Anyway, the point is that, even though most (if not all) poker software tries to prevent it, it is quite simple to do.

Great thread.. I play cash on ipoker as well and have been wondering how people have been doing it, because when I try it makes me buy in the whole amount..

Oh yes you can.

The software does try to stop you, but as Alan said, there"s a way round that. 

Going south / rat-holing / weeding or whatever you want to call it, is an unfortunate part of online cash - and very annoying.
