paulie if the contract is set that no announcement is made 6 weeks before teh event then they need to look into the contract

remember we are amateurs some traveling from the north of scotland and even norway

its not a case of jumping in the car and driving to say birmingham or newcastle or even edinburgh (takes me longer to get to edinburgh than it would take a londoner getting to birmingham)

if the even is announced 6 weeks before hand then there is normally 2 weeks before the clickfest/draw so we have 4 weeks notice

now as a blogger at live events i would imagine that you would know that if you book a flight 6 weeks in advance you will get it much cheaper than booking it 4 weeks in advance infact i delayed booking a slight 1 week before and the price jumped up 300%

due to the nature of the APAt events its hard to justify playing £150-£180 for a flight for a £75 comp when you could of gotten the same flight for £50 2 weeks previous

then there is hotels not everyone can stay in any old cheap b&b some of us need to make sure there is access and we dont like finding out that the hotels in question are booked solid (bank holiday anyone)

i love the APAt events and what they are trying to achieve but the booking and announcing of events and seats seriously needs to be looked at to enable people who have to travel the oppotunity to make arrangements

The delay has nothing whatsoever to do with the PokerStars contract.  As Paulie might have said, he was speculating, and incorrectly.

I need to also make clear that APAT have been chomping at the bit to get this announcement out, but there are other variables in play and this is where the delay is.

I apologise to our members for this frustrating period I know you are having to go through.

They say no news is good news. Hmm.

They also say you need patience to play poker, well at least that ones right.

As to my guess at the venue, I"m hoping for somewhere in the south (please). London, Brighton or even Luton would be good.

London - at short notice - on a Bank Holiday weekend (if that"s still the assumed date) - I don"t think you should hope it"s there unless you have a LOT of money to spend on accommodation.

Sorry Jon forgot to mention I live near Heathrow, London wouldn"t be a problem for me. Selfish I know but I do have a spare room, good rates available to fellow Apat members.

As a Luton Town fan, I"d be happy to see it in Luton. Especially if there are 2 day 1s (B.Hol weekend) as this would give me chance to go watch the football on the Saturday. Brighton is a long long way away but I know people in London and Brighton to save on Hotel fees. So I can"t lose if they choose one of these. I"d be prepared to wager on Luton tho".

Liverpool has the best culture, nightlife, hotels, B&B"s, cardrooms, transport links outside of London.

So hope its Liverpool and it has got nothing to do with the fact that I live there... Honest!!!

I did indeed say something to that effect, Des and am happy to be corrected.

Apologies for not posting during the LPM Vegas Trip (Project Mayhem)...things got a little hectic and by the time I got round to putting anything down, I"d killed a few million braincells and couldn"t remember much.

If the new Isle Casino at Coventry can supposedly cater for up to 600 using extra rooms over and above their standard 120 capacity, I hope that is being considered as a future venue for an APAT event?
