WARNING BE CAREFUL
« on: September 19, 2012, 01:44:13 AM »
This is by no means a rant at the site or APAT but just a little warning..

I stayed and railed the FT of PLO/HL last night, good craic it was too  :D.

Well i was just about to go to bed almost turned of my pc when a new table popped up???..
To my knowledge i had not registered any tourney, so my first impression was some kind of freeroll... But no i checked my balance and indeed fifty euros had been taken i was in the nightly 2k garunteed!!!
Leigh and Matt where also railing and i was informed that i might of accidently hit one of the many pop ups that come near the chip tray  :"( :"(.. So just a warning guys dont be a spaz like me having loads of tables open on loads of sites, it could get expensive, i would never buy in a fifty euro unless it was deepstack and APAT.

They are indeed. Especially the huge ones that cover up the table half way through a hand!

And no, apparently you can"t turn them off. Which is awful.

Same thing happened to me last week. I was HU with cashman for a Apat ME seat and clicked a popup to get rid but instead  entered another game which totally confused me (doesnt take a lot). Lost the HU and the game was a sat into a bigger game which I couldnt play anyway  :"(

Normally I would of just exited the site after I was busted, only thing that saved my bacon was that i was railing the guys on FT of ECOAP, when my table popped up!!.
Think you should at least get another pop up saying that you have indeed registered for the tournament if in case that was the fact.. A fifty euro FO with a 2k starting stack is def not a tourney I would want to be playing, only saving grace was I cashed fourth for 241.50.. From now on I am going to check my account balance after every pop up to cover my ass  ;D.

Phil im pretty sure i never clicked on register, but obv i cant be 100% sure. Then tonight another pop up came on table, so i know im 100% sure i clicked cancel, but i then got a message saying i had been registered and the funds would be taken and i could share on Facebook.. so i straight away looked down the filter to see what i had been registered for, but nothing was showing.. checked my account and no funds had been taken???... Very strange going ons lol im sure people will probably think im just going crazy or paranoid, but after last night i am being extra vigilant so i just dont know.. Be interesting to see if it happens to anyone else..

I have lost count of the number of tourneys I"ve acci-regged over the years. In fact I have bought into the 7.5K rebuy by accident 2 of the last 3 nights (inc tonight).

It is very annoying and I am pretty sure there is no way of stopping the pop-ups. I think Matt has spoken to BOSS about it in the past but there are too many other sites on the network that aren"t bothered by this.

As a back up after a pop up i am also going to >Settings>Player profile  this then shows what tournaments i am registered in, a pain in the butt i know but it covers another way of seeing if in fact you are reg or not.
Dont want to keep harping on about it, as infact apart from this i have no real issues with site, im just sure im not alone with this minor problem and the more people aware with this the better.

I am sure the pop ups ask you to choose between "ok" and "cancel"? Cannot remember but sure this is the case.

Yes there is an OK and a CANCEL button - my problem is that the cursor is on the OK button by default.... so if I have a lot going on at the same time and a popup comes up whilst I"m typing elsewhere, it"s all too easy to inadvertently hit Enter without realising it, and that effectively clicks the OK button, and then no further confirmation is given.  Some might say that it"s a bit underhand of BOSS to default on the OK button like this.

I have registered for tournaments in the past without realising when I"ve had the DTD lobby open, and I wasn"t even playing poker at the time - just working in other windows.  It"s a total pain in the ass, and something that I"ve never experienced on any other network.
