(Not that i am involved), but i would tend to agree with Gordon here.

If APAT is running a reserved list, then I think these people deserve to be given any spare seats.

Just my two penny"s :)

Yeah gotta agree here, especially with people willing to travel etc

This ... APAT members on the reserve list have supported APAT online and at other live events, think it"s only fair that first option of released seats go to the members on the reserve list.

I appreciate the casino may want to save some seats for the local regulars and there is always a fine balance ... but if they said the seats were to be used for live satellites and then not used for such, then any released seats should really go to the reserve list IMO

Totally agree.

I was under the impression that these seats were given to the local casino to use "as they see fit".

Yea but if they haven"t bothered using them and are just gonna sell them on the day of the event, then surely those that have supported APAT should get first shout. Especially noting there is a large reserve list of people willing to travel to play.

I think you should remember this is an APAT event. Why should non members be allowed to play when there is a waiting list of members many of whom have supported APAT at other live and on line events.

This is a bit dangerous.

APAT should ALWAYS welcome new players, which is why the give tickets to casinos to sell to locals i would imagine. However if the casino is struggling to shift these tickets and there is demand on the website i think there should be a compromise.

The casino will hold sit and go satellites on Wednesday night and a number of seats may be released back to APAT following that event, ie we"ll know more on Thursday.  However, APAT always wants to bring new players in so allocating seats through the host venue will always be part of our plans.

Gotta agree with Des here . If there had not been the event in Swansea at the start of 2010 I would not have started playing the events. Giving seats to the casino and letting them use them will bring new members to APAT. Unused seats will almost certainly get used on the day. We are talking about a very small number of seats here which are being used to promote APAT and help ensure it continues to grow. A very good decision in my opinion.

Defo important to attract new blood and this seems like a good compromise.

I take it the people playing the SNG satellites will be APAT members?

I can"t help but feel a mistake has been made choosing the Alea as a choice of venue.  Sure, it"s big, it"s on the Waterfront and it looks nice, but the way things are organised in that place is ridiculous.  The Genting is maybe another option to consider in future :)

Yes

Playing it automatically makes them APAT members.

My concern with the Alea, although I guess this could relate to any casino, was that I played the £200 festival in the summer there but some of the locals that came along for the normal Saturday ended up entering it. I had two at my table who literally were 3 and 4 betting each other blind every other hand while enjoying way too many beers. I got stuck in the middle of one of these altercations with my AA which I obviously wasn"t folding and was bust when my flopped set lost out to one of the guy"s straight on the river - he committed himself blind preflop with 53os! I don"t mind losing a hand but these guys turned up for the usual £20 turbo afternoon game, were getting well trashed and decided to "play" this tournament! There was no poker getting played and the whole table were p1ssed off with proceedings.
