Home Nation's Welsh Team - Team Selection

Good morning

The APAT Home Nations takes place on 30th November 2012 in Genting Casino in Stoke.

The captains for the two teams are:-

Steve Roderick - Forum Name "AAroddersAA"
Gary Phillips - "Bear21"

We are looking to select two teams of roughly equal ability to give Wales the best possible chance of winning.

Although Wales have been successful in recent years we do have a fairly small player base and we are also looking to give the chance to a few people who have not been able to play before. I would therefore request that anybody who would like to play for Wales post on this thread or send a PM to myself and Gary. You can include whatever you like for our consideration but all applications WILL be considered.

The closing date for applications is 29th October and myself and Gary will then review applications and select the two teams. I would really encourage everybody to take this opportunity and apply to play as this event is one of APAT's best and playing for Wales is something you have to experience if you have the chance.

I have to be honest and say I am quite surprised by the lack of response to this currently. I would have thought it was a great chance to actually play for Wales as the chance to do so is so limited. Everybody has a chance so if you are going to be in Stoke put your name forward. The event is a great one and it will be well worth it. Myself and Gary want to be in a position to name a team as soon as possible after the 29th.

I really want to play in this but unfortunately I haven"t got a stoke pass for that weekend, so no point in applying.

Before I get the "under the thumb" bit - I"ve got UKIPT November, and GPS Sheffield the weekend before - with 2 children, and Xmas coming up. It just ain"t happening unless I win UKIPT/GPS I guess - nah probably not happening then either. Its nice to spend time with the kids also, no really.

Also I"m English (living in Wales) surely I should play for the England team!

Live Games. Play for your own Country. If your Scottish...apply/play for Scotland....England....so on..etc

League games are just locations, and not countries as such.... at least i dont think the North West is a country.

Thanks for all the interest, but seriously only Welsh people will be selected for any Welsh squads.

OK guy"s only a few more days to go and we are still hoping that more people apply.

I have already invited the entire Welsh region side via PM. I don"t know who is Welsh and who isn"t in that team but I assume most people are so if you are then you should apply (if you not Welsh I am afraid you will need to disregard the PM sorry).
