Ironside is on 16,000

"Played 8 hands won 6"

Describes the local players as "incredibly loose" which coming from him is saying something

Interesting scenario at the airport too. Met by a pre-booked taxi we say hello to the driver and he says "English, ja?"

Answering in the affirmative he then said"David Beckham"

So i have to respond

I managed "Hans Krankl, Thomas Hitzselsperger"

and was met by a grin and a nod

but try as I might I could not think of any more famous Austrian footballers

So thats you first challenge..non-Googling or else Uncle Tighty will put you in detention

famous Austrian footballers please!!!

Well thomas hitzelsperger is German, (how would an english cabbie react to " Robbie Savage"?)

So that puts the list down to 1. Under the non googling rule, I am only able to add Alex Manninger (ex a r s e nal goalie)

Do I win a prize?

speaking with the dapper Stevie, our TD today, I discover that this in in fact Europe"s largest card-room. Last year as part of the Poker Royale Masters they had a comp with 681 runners playing in one sitting!

Impressive

Tennis Players Kim Clijsters, Justine Henin, Xavier Malisse
Cyclist Eddy Merckx
Painter Rene Magritte
Actor(?) Jean Claude Van Damme
Actress Audrey Hepburn (not a lot of people know that)
Detective Hercule Poirot (not real but definitely Belgian)

Prize please.... And an update on Simon Auckland if possible although he tends to be boring early in these :-)

Ship the prize to Garrett and Swinebag then. If you get to Vienna in the next 30 minutes you can claim it

188 was the final turnout

break at the end of the third level in 15 minutes

Des has a video camera for interviews.Last seen heading in the direction of 188 people, microphone in hand

As we are half way through the 100-200 level we have 171 left

My seat here is worrying close to Ironside"s he"s over every 5 minutes with the latest bad beat!!

except this time it is real bad news as he has been called  with bottom pair by an Austrian player on the flop after he pushed with "outs"

sadly they did not come and he has been knocked out

Kevin Shutt is chipleader with 25,000

His 10 10 hit trips and a lady gave him her whole stack with AJ on a 10 J 3 9 board

Jack Prime had  jd :2d: in the blinds, unraised and hit  4d :3d: 8d flop

He checked, bet of 800, raise to 1800 Jack pushes for 8450

800 better calls all in, reraiser passes  4s :3s:

raiser shows  4h :3h:

Jack doubles up plus a bit!

I chatted with these guys before the start, having made the 3 hour trip from Hungary they are all still in.

Elliott is American, and lived in Hammersmith now Budapest.
