Wales 'A' Team For Home Internationals in Stoke
« on: October 30, 2012, 21:36:47 PM »
Good Evening

As captain of the Welsh Team for the Home Nations in Stoke I am happy to announce the following team who will be representing Wales in Stoke.

Steve Roderick
Steve Harrison
Aneurin Venables
Sian Jones
Mike Gale

I know that the above team will give their all for Wales and have no doubt they will prove difficult opponents for anybody they meet. Some of these guys have been overdue the chance to play for Wales for a LONG time but with the continued success of Wales the opportunity has not been there. I am sure they will all show what they can do now they have their chance.

See you all in Stoke. Play well.....

Likewise... an honour to be on the team... but already feeling the pressure of having to live up to the standard set by Wales in previous events... all really good teams taking part, so really looking forward to the challenge!!

It"s this week guys, starting to feel it now. Playing for Wales means a lot more than any other poker event.

My Welsh pride I will not Hide.
My Welsh race I will not disgrace.
My Welsh blood flows hot and true.
My Welsh people I will stand with you
Through thick and thin till the day we die.
Our Welsh flag always flies high.
I YELL THIS POEM LOUDER THAN THE REST
COS EVERYBODY KNOWS WE WELSH ARE THE BEST

Now let"s do it - AGAIN

The time is upon us. The forces of our rivals will begin to gather in Stoke in a mere 24 hours. Not a bad response from my good friend and counter part of England C today. We will all be enjoying the weekend together as soon as the Home Nations ends.

BUT. We know what we have to do, we know we have the people to do it and know how to do it. The passion and pride of this team is not in doubt, it"s 110% from all of. I know everybody will be giving that 110%.

This is to help us all stay focused and it will be an honour playing with you all and calling you team-mates.

Listen to that last verse

When I tread the verge of Jordan,
Bid my anxious fears subside;
Death of deaths, and hell"s destruction,
Land me safe on Canaan"s side;
Wales victorious, Wales victorious,
Onward to the victory, onward to the victory!

Despite a number of requests, I refuse to ban Mr Roderick.
