APAT Forum team request
« on: December 14, 2012, 15:15:09 PM »
Well i received a text message today from Leigh, asking if i would like the daunting job of being team Captain and selecting a Forum team to compete in the United Kingdom APAT forum team championships, being held at the G casino Luton weekend 26th/27th January 2013..

He explained that between Des, Matt and himself they had all agreed i would be a worthy choice and to let them know my thoughts and give them a decision... Well as you could all guess the scorch marks on my phone where testament that a decision was not long forthcoming!!..

It is a great honor to play for any team associated with APAT, and i guess an even greater honor to be skipper.

So now comes that daunting task of selecting seven fellow APAT team players...

I would like you lot to make my life a complete misery for the next 12 days and put your requests forward via PM,

All those who apply will be sent a confirmation message of application request, and will add to my misery  ;D... the best kind of misery i hasten to add..

I am looking for a strong team of  youth, enthusiasm, and also experience a mix which i think could go a long way in the search for success, and with it being a Forum event i would like regular forum users to please apply.. aswell as those who may be newer to APAT, as i say i will take every application into consideration

So as from now please send me your applications, 2012 has been a simply fantastic year for me poker wise, lets start 2013 off with the same success..

I would like you lot to make my life a complete misery for the next 6 days and put your requests forward via PM, i would like to have 24 hours to stew over the selections hence closing date Friday 20th at 9.00pm, then giving me time to announce the team for closing deadline of Saturday 21st...

All those who apply will be sent a confirmation message of application request, and will add to my misery  ;D... the best kind of misery i hasten to add..

Probably the hardest of all the captain jobs this one, hope you get loads of applicants, although you may end up sitting in front of a computer late at night wondering how the hell you select this team *lol*. Please make sure you enjoy the experience though, seriously, it is a great honor but most important is too have fun whilst doing it. You are in a great position to do this justice, whatever the result. Well deserved.

Look forward to (hopefully) playing against your team in Luton.

Thanks Steve, appreciate it..

When you read other captains saying how hard it is to select a squad, until you have that task then you just don"t realise just the extent of thought process it takes!!

Have had a few names in my head who have made my life a little easier since they have applied.. But doesn"t make it easy when you know at the end of the day you are going to have to let down people who are close mates in the APAT community..  :(

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. You just want to pick everybody, every name you see seems to fit into the team, but trust me, people you don"t pick WILL understand (this is APAT) and by leaving people out you don"t let anybody down. Really excited about seeing the team though.

Would like to thank all of you that have taken the time to apply for the team..

Have had a really good response from all the applicants I have already received, had a steady number of requests being sent for the first few days..

This made me extend the application period to Boxing Day 26th December..

Now over the last couple of days the applicants have reduced greatly, so I am yet again going to change the deadline from 26th..... to 9.00pm on Sunday 23rd..

So if any of you are still thinking of applying please get your applications in before then please, by no means have I filled all spots in my team, there is still time for you to be part of my MAGNIFICENT..7

Have decided to formally Announce my squad on Boxing Day evening.. With those who have made the team being informed once my mind has been made..

So come on people don"t be shy give it a try  ;)

How come you need to know the list of teams that have been chosen to play? That seems irrelevant to you choosing from the players that have applied?

I would like to give every one that has applied the chance to play.. and it is to my understanding that indeed a few of the players who have applied to play for the APAT forum team have also applied to play for other teams that may or may not be chosen to participate.

IMHO people shouldnt be applying for more than 1 team... i reckon you should just announce your team on schedule, the APAT team is the most important of the lot :)
