Team Championship Weather Watch
« on: January 19, 2013, 08:40:13 AM »
How"s it looking down there?

The motorways should be pretty clear subject to no more snow falling...

Is there any risk of cancellation?

Forecasts show potential further snowfall upto Wed/Thurs in the South East, but clear after that.

Obviously players are travelling from all over, so we may get a few that can"t/don"t fancy making the journey, but I have a bunch of "local" players who are dying to get a game and would happily step in to support any of the teams.

We will keep monitoring the situation in conjunction with management at the venue, management at the hotels and the MET Office and update everyone should things change.

I heard a rumour that Des had a word with the big man to ensure that the snow came this weekend instead of next!

Generally main and a roads are looked after. Should be ok, think this weekend was meant to be the worst of it overall.

The Luton area is clear at the moment, but snow is due this evening, but that should be it for the weekend.

Appreciate this may affect some people"s travel plans.  Please take care everyone and keep us all posted.

Just gone through Cardiff and Newport, a little bit of snow in that area falling but not much, coming up to the border now and all seem fine. Road and rail links are good from Wales atm.

90mins east of Luton in Peterborough it"s been snowing since 8pm. Just about stopped.

Not good but should be fine once on main roads

It"s been snowing hard (and sticking) for six hours in East Lancashire. All buses and taxis have been taken off the roads long ago. We"ll be making a decision about 7.30am in the morning whether team LBPN will risk taking to the roads or not, but it"s not looking good :(

Looks like being an interesting journey ...

Setting off a little earlier than originally planned, loading shovel and wellies, and hoping the major roads are clear
