Only problem I see for me is the 6 max and high roller clash.

I think it"s a great decision to have these 2 events are on the same day. 2 holdem events to choose from, you either go for the higher buy in or lower. That way you get the chance to play other variants on other days.

The main thing I"m saying is the heads up is a traditional event, with a defending champion, and it"s one a lot of people really look forward too as there isn"t many heads up tournaments going in the poker calendar. I thought razz or the cash game tourney would be more suited to being on the last day, as I regard the heads up to be more prestigious than them. But that is just my opinion. Other players are saying they can"t wait for the Razz, everyone"s different!

Now then, I"ve got to say that the schedule is fantastic in what its offering to the players; the variety of games and the amount of tournaments at the best cardroom in the country. We have been utterly spoilt by it and a great round of applause goes to the team yet again for making it all possible.

but i do have to vent a little frustration at the possibility of what Liam has brought attention to.
As said already, yeah you have to priortise the games you wanna play as there simply isnt enough time across the weekend to play them all. For example i have to pick between omaha and HORSE with regards to my starting day for the main event, not great but heyho.

i think the point that liam is making isnt around the fact you have to choose events to play, its to do with the fact that new events which have no history are causing an affect on past winners returning to enjoy past tourneys. of course, with the heads up event, if i do make day 2 (hey, who knows :p) then i miss out on the opportunity to defend a world title in a poker tournament, which i think for anyone would be a massive disappointment.

and unfortunately for me personally, i am the only one affected by this, so i guess others wont really give a hoot.
what may have been an idea (and i dunno if it wasnt possible) would be to have both the cash game and high roller event on the final day as there would be a small number of players left from the weekend competing for the main event and also there could well be more chance for players to play the higher buyin events due to a successful/profitable weekend or for those who dont fancy the mixed/varient games and just focus purely on a holdem event.

it is a small disappointment on an otherwise spotless schedule, either way i cant wait the weekend and congrats on a spectacular festival ahead.

Well said Chris, pretty much what I"m saying! Great schedule, very well organised, just a tiny shame you could miss out on defending your title like we spoke about.

And yes, the razz and cash game tourneys really do look fantastic, but the heads up is a past tournament has a history about it, and maybe should be held in higher regard than the new tourneys.

No disrespect Chris  ;) but APAT ran the UK"s first Razz event; as part of the first World Championship of Amateur Poker back in 2007.  I don"t think the history card...no pun intended...will get you there!

One of the key reasons for having the Heads Up alongside the main on the last day of the festival, is that it allows players to get home a bit earlier after five days away, should they exit in the first round or two.

It"s the correct decision under the circumstances and I stand by it.   8)

Two other factors to consider also with regards the schedule, is that we don"t want to put a big ask on a large number of players to be there for the opening day, hence why the Stud fits in there.  That aside, it was important to not clash high traffic events with either of the main event starting dates.  It wouldn"t work for DTD, and it would have meant some harder choices for players.  Finally, I didn"t really see the High Roller and Six Max as comparative.  The High Roller buy in is well outside of the typical APAT buy in, so i think players who are attracted by that Championship opportunity, will accept missing the Six Max.

We absolutely love our defending Champs, but ultimately we wouldn"t make a WCOAP scheduling decision for the sole reason that you might get a shot at a double.

It"s amazing that you guys care so much though and that"s what makes it really worthwhile for the organising team.

Thanks for all of the feedback guys and please keep it coming.

thanks for the reply Des. I wasnt referring to the Razz event in particular, more to do with the high roller and cash event, both being fairly new to the scene (with the exception of the ProAm events a few seasons back) but i fully appreciate the work that goes on behind the scene to make these festivals happen.

we are very lucky to have you guys putting every effort into the series for all the players to enjoy.
with that said, thats what ill be looking to do that weekend, enjoy it.
I just hope that unfortunate situation doesnt arise for me, or it could well be the best display of multi-tabling DTD has ever seen  ;)

Trust me on this, if you come back for day two of the main event with 450,000 chips, you"ll be okay about it!  There will be £10k to £15k for the winner, you"ll be focussed on the main!

Great to see so much variety, although I"d be gutted to miss the heads up event by making day 2 of the main.
