On a serious note, Austria have entered a team in the past!

Last time was 2009, and they didn"t turn up  ;)

Two did, and two didn"t.  Felt very sorry for the two guys who did make it and although we tried to talk them into playing, they took the decision not to enter.

Didn"t realise that; I just remember playing againt 1 in the 6-max and assumed they had a team... a reasonable assumption given that he was in his "Team Austria" shirt  ;)

I"m delighted to announce the final set of teams and captains competing for this year"s World Amateur Team Championship.  They are:-

Canada - Craig MacInnes
England - Steve Redfern
France - Jean-Michel Ballocchi
Ireland - Frank Bailie
Italy - Luca Cannella
Malaysia - Felix Chong
Poland - Ian Szerlowski
Portugal - Bruno Rilho
Scotland - Davie Blacklaw
Spain - Juan De Diego
USA - Carey Hollick
Wales - Paul McGuinness

Please join with me in congratulating Craig, Jean-Michel, Felix, Bruno, Juan and Carey on confirmation of their appointments.  Each will be giving 110% along with their country mates; as I"m sure will the previously announced captains, to take this title on March 28th and 29th.

It should be a very exciting competition.

Sigh.  We"ve tried a few.  Jen Mason is doing updates at the Irish Open that week.  Deborah Worley-Roberts can"t play for personal reasons. An other can"t travel due to torn ligaments in his leg(s).  And on and on we go.  So pleeeeeeeeease everyone...if you know of any Yank who would like to join the team, give us a shout. Cheers!   :)
