You should have. Go to Settings > Personal Settings. Make sure "Hide VIP Status" is unticked.

Well knowing there was an avatar up for grabs, I drew upon a little skill and a larger amount of run good to come in 4th and the avatar is there and compulsory unless I wish to hide VIP status as Matt suggested.
Might avoid the TV highlights, not my finest endgame performance $:-\$
