We will be looking closely at the format for this event over the weekend.  I"m leaning towards this, please feel free to discuss.

---

I would see this working as the number of teams x 10 person matchplay STTs on day 1 with points being allocated in ascending order of exit (1pt to 10pts).   We will look at timings, but we may also have a second round of MTTs with points being allocated as per the first round.

The table winners / leading individual points scorers will return to play on day 2 in MTT format and play down to a final table, where points will again be allocated in ascending order of exit - essentially deciding the Team Championship.

The winner of the day 2 MTT will win the GUKPT seat plus Gold Medal, with the prize money split evenly amongst all ten team members. The winning forum itself would take the additional prize plus the Cup.  Top three forums get paid.

It"s needs to be more than just a STT for 90% of the players (IMO), especially when people are travelling a long way for a "fun" weekend of poker.

Possibly the leading however many (let"s say 40 - that"s two from each one) from the STTs go into the "major" MTT, whilst the remainder go into a "minor" MTT.

Or something along those lines.  Just thinking out loud really.

I agree.  If we can arrange it so that people are guaranteed a reasonable amount of poker then it will be a great weekend.  What"s wrong with it being a straight APAT style 2 day event, with maybe some bonus side games ?

There would also need to be a mechanism for if 2 teams were level on points -
Deep Stack HU between team captains?

I"m not even going to the forum challenge, so my experience in Deep Stack HU games isn"t relevant.

I just thought it would be an appropriate way of deciding a deadlock and a suitable responsibility to give to a team captain.

Alternatively, high card draw is an option ;D.
