Thanks for the reply Des, you need to get some sleep   ;)

No probs, it was discussed at the game, and I just happened to be the one who found the draws and made a response...

Leaving in 10 minutes, see you all there

Hope you are all having a great time.
Can I ask if this is going to be a regular thing. Hard to find out info on past team games (if any) also of any future ones. If this is going to be a regular event, is there a thread somewhere to register your interest in these?
Sorry if there is a thread on registering teams and I just haven"t found it.
If I say something that offends you, please tell me. I may want to offend you again later ;-)

This is the first APAT team game.

It seems to be going off very successfully so that"s a good sign that it will be repeated next season.

As an inter forum challenge it is up to each forum entered to decide how there team was chosen (so that"s something more to be found on each forum"s site rather than this one) - apart from the APAT forum team which was a thread started to register an interest, so I would expect next year there would be a similar process.

Thanks for the info Jon. I am in a forum where we play/meet in various locations during the course of the year at present. So it would be good to put a team together for the next one  :)

I just want to say a big Thank You to all the APAT members who helped put on this great event. Fun was had by all, little disappointed we didnt use our usually very consistent record in these comps to secure some silverware but congrats to Raise the River"s winner and the Bristol team for winning.

From a UKPL Perspective, very well done to Bunny for coming 5th in the event, solid and risky play paid off and you did us proud.

Well done to all the teams who played this in great spirit. UKPL will be back FTW next time ;)

Many thanks to Des and everyone who organised the event ....... we all at UKFF really enjoyed our first venture into competitive play and to finish 9th in forum table we are over the moon about.

Personally i was gobsmacked to reach day 2 let alone finish 6th  :)

I played at Edinburgh last year which was a great pleasure ........ i have one complaint which i have no idea whose fault it was (Probably the casinos) the buffet on saturday was a right shambles and loads of players who were in the tournament got absolutely nothing to eat ....... i know it is being a bit petty but by the time we waited for the queue to die down it was to late to go out and purchase any.

Thanks for the feedback Nathan.  The G got the timings wrong and initially brought the buffet out early, where I understand some was consumed, leaving the buffet break short.  Rest assured that will be part of our report back to Grosvenor head office, and apologies if you went hungry for the evening.

Hi guys,

I am BurnleyMik of the RaiseTheRiver poker forum and community (who finished 2nd baby and had the individual winner!!  ;D)  and I would like to take this opportunity to thank APAT, AWOP, NutzTV and BlueSquare for putting together what was an absolutely fantastic weekend of poker.

The team element really worked well, with your hopes still alive even though you had busted!!

I think you guys all did an excellent job and would to thankyou on behalf of all of RaiseTheRiver and we will be back next year to try and claim the title we so narrowly missed out on!!

Thankyou!

It was a long weekend in the windy mecca of the north. A thoroughly well organised event (as expected from Des and APAT). 20 well supported teams , 200 players from the best amateur sites in the UK all arrived on the Saturday to commence battle in what was to be an epic.

There were some rough beats being dished out to many , but it didnt deter the atmosphere from being electric. I would like to thank Andysmith on doing a good job as team captain. Natsam , fantastic result in reaching the Final Table after having started Day 2 as a shortstack (Well Played!). A fine support role from Kev "Ive seen the light" Rev54 to earn us more Team points and giving us a respectable finish against the big boys (18/1 seems like a bargain , considering ;) ). A very big thank you to the rest of the team , DavidM17 ...wasnt to be this time Dave, Charlie aka SlyFox...horrible beat , Mortis ...such a great start , but when the cards are against you ...there is no escape(nice job on the Blackjack too), Beau ...solid game without the cards , Evertonbabe ... well played and good job on the roulette , Al ... what can i say , keep getting your chips in ahead and it will click together very soon. As for myself , I couldnt catch a cold all weekend.....still it took a river beat to take my chips.

I would also like to say "CONGRATULATIONS" to Mair38 , your name was on the Trophy! It was nice to meet you and hubby - Hammerheid. Ranny , always there to brighten up the weekend. Chewie2000 , was great to meet you , sorry I didnt have time to catch up with Spursman...maybe next time. Shogun112 , nice to meet you. Resdent Evil , was good to meet you and I will get revenge for those running hearts :D

We all made a lot of new friends too from the other forums. There were some quality people involved throughout.

Chris and Kerry , our rail team...nice to meet you both and thank you for all the support.

Finally , a big thank you to the following :

Des Duffy and Apat , thanks for a great competition , I hope we showed our worth!

John from BlueSquare , good to meet you and thank you.

GCasino - Nice venue , good staff. Thank you

AWOP & The Nutz TV...awesome coverage , many thanks for keeping all those forum members back at home base up to date with the event.

The other teams - thanks for the game , the entertainment (Newcastle) , the colour ( Bristol & Southwest ) , Dewi (top bloke , nice chatting with you) , Bas (was nice to put a face to the name , geezer) , Mike and Marcus from Gutshot (top lads!) ...and to anyone I have not mentioned. Respect

Yes, team prizes only, with the exception of the GUKPT seat which is added value for the individual winner and £1,000 & the Cup to the winning forum "owner".

Hi Guys,

Mair posted this in our forum and I felt I"d like to add my opinion here.

I think this is not a great idea to remove the individual prize. I mean for example, what if one player in the team gets really deep, but the rest bust out early?? That player then has nothing left to play for and it will ruin the spirit of the game IMO, they may as well just dump their chips off ::).

Does she have a crystal ball?!

Just want to say a massive thanks to everyone involved in organising the event and helping out over the two days.  It was a fantastic weekend.

I was so excited to be in the APAT team and want to thank my team mates for such fantastic support  ;D

It was great to see all our friends again and to have met many new friends too.

Mary - Congratulations, it was a win well deserved - and nice to have met you over the weekend - can"t believe I have never spoken to you before  :)

Congratulations to the Bristol and South West Meetup team

Take care all and look forward to seeing you all soon
