Dealer shoves the chips to wrong player
« on: August 26, 2013, 18:44:49 PM »
Or nearly does in my case...

It was during this weekends 6-max. I raised all-in a K high flop and the other player thought for a bit and called me. I only held a Kh giving me a pair and he shown  A s 7s with  10s  Kd  Js now playing.  9c on 4th then  Qd on the River. I give a slight cheer as my Kings held up and then noticed the River made me the straight as no spades fell. The dealer starts to move the chips my way, the other player shakes his head as he thought my Straight had won until a player says "Hold on, he has the Ace".

What would of happened if he had actually given me the chips and I had started taking them.?

The cards weren"t mucked, would the chips of been mine, or would I have simply had to pass them over as the other player had won, even though he had not noticed until somebody else pointed it out...

In tournament poker, the cards speak.

I like to think that all players at the table should support the dealer to maintain the integrity of the tournament.
