Pot committed so all Ax flush draws, and FD/straight combo, over pairs/FD combos.

I"d also add made flushes, higher sets and most over pairs without flush draws to swinebags assessment unless I have any reads that suggest he would play those over pairs cautiously.

I actually meant top pair / FD combos in my post and was only listing weakish hands that I call with. I also call with the made hands you mentioned as well

he will continue with all overpairs (with spade or without) high cards with spades (esp the NFD) and of course sets and made flushes. Also possibly 88/99 with a spade wont fold either

Obviously you are never folding a set in a 3bet pot this shallow. I may consider folding preflop if I were you though.

I can"t see how you would fold preflop.  You are set mining and have hit it.  The three spades means that the oppo is going to have a wider range with which to continue in the hand.   This range is pretty much as Rob has suggested.

If he had not raised on the flop, but instead had gone allin, are you calling ?  What was the plan ?

I"m not folding this pre flop. Your stack is close to the fold pre level but 32 bigs is enough for me to open this. Is this a leak in my game here?

its probably close-ish and I would open it but how deep do you think you need to be to profitably calling a 3bet against a strong range where you are going to find it hard to continue unless he hit a 5?

I would call a 3 bet out of a 40-50BB stack (depending on sizing) minimum with a pair. In this case I fold the 55 to a strong range 3 bet but would 4bet jam otherwise.

Thanks for the input gang, much appreciated. Pre flop I"m calling this OOP which I don"t particularly like, my call was basically cheap enough to fish for the 5 and my read on this guy is that he"s 3 betting with a top range hand so could fall in love with it and make it profitable.

What I"ll tell you now is that he had Ax......but the 32 chip all-in pre who"s sitting out (Dauerwurst) had A7 spades  :D

So are you calling with your Ax if x = a different spade? Thinking about it and how I"ve played it without knowing my cards, would you think much about me having the Ace of spades?

He"s probably bet/calling ATs upward and KQ with either being a spade.

Cheers for these responses guys coz I was stunned when he snapped me off with Ad Qs. I felt he could"ve easily put me on As the way the hand played out, but the speed of his call suggests he hadn"t even considered that. Not a bad beat story as such, I"ll take that call every day of the week and twice on Sundays (especially when the "sit-out" player"s hand was revealed).
